Less-Lethal Munitions
This invention relates to less-lethal munitions. More particularly, the invention relates to a wad and a less-lethal round of ammunition adapted for use with a conventional firearm, which less-lethal shell enables the firearm to propel less-lethal projectiles therefrom. According to a first aspect of the invention there is provided a wad operatively received within an ammunition casing, the wad comprising a substantially disc-shaped base; and a plurality of tabs extending from the base defining a receiving zone therebetween, with at least some of the tabs provided with an inwardly projecting formation for urging against a projectile operatively received within the receiving zone.
METHOD OF ACHIEVING CONTROLLED, VARIABLE BALLISTIC DISPERSION IN AUTOMATIC WEAPONS
A method of achieving controlled, variable ballistic dispersion in an automatic weapon is disclosed includes providing a plurality of cartridges, where each cartridge has a case and a projectile partially inserted into a mouth of the case forming a circumferential joint between the projectile and the mouth of the cartridge and held therein at a different pull strength. The method also includes providing a plurality of adhesive sealants, where each adhesive sealant of the plurality of adhesive sealants sets a design bullet pull strength that is different from each other adhesive sealant.
DISPENSE FOR APPLYING AN ADHESIVE TO REMOTE SURFACES
A dispense for dispensing an adhesive onto a remote surface, such as a case mouth and primer ammunition. The dispense includes a reservoir containing an adhesive; a positive displacement pump; and a nozzle having a tapered tip. The positive displacement pump delivers a predetermined amount of the adhesive, preferably an anaerobic adhesive, from the reservoir to the nozzle at predetermined intervals. The nozzle discharges the predetermined amount of adhesive through the air and at least 1/16-inch onto the remote surface.

MULTI-CALIBER DIMENSIONAL INSPECTION DEVICE FOR AN ASSEMBLED CARTRIDGE
A dimensional inspection device for a cartridge includes a measuring body defining a first free body end with a first reference surface, and a second free end with a locking surface. The measuring body defines a cavity including a hole for receiving a cartridge and defining a hole axis, a hole end opening facing the first reference surface, and an opposite hole end bottom. The measuring body includes a threaded through hole coaxial with the hole axis between the hole bottom and the second free body end. An adjusting screw engages the threaded hole so rotation of the screw displaces the second reference surface along the hole axis. A lock washer has a threaded washer hole engaged with the screw body outside the measuring body so upon rotation, the lock washer moves. The lock washer clamps against the measuring body, locking the adjusting screw.
Ammunition system and ammunition for firearms
An ammunition system and associated ammunition for firearms, particularly for muzzleloader firearms, having a predetermined amount of propellant charge housed in a casing, and a separate projectile having a sabot. The casing has a cap sealing the casing muzzle end such that the cap and the sabot provide seals to trap propellant gases within the barrel behind the projectile upon firing. The cap top end and sabot bottom end interlock in mechanical communication with one another upon firing allowing the projectile exiting the barrel muzzle end to be responsive to the barrel rifling. The barrel breech end has a chamber bushing for receiving the casing and a tapered muzzle end to prohibit the projectile from entering the casing.
