Method of making a metal injection molded ammunition cartridge
The present invention provides a method of making a metal injection molded ammunition cartridge comprising the steps of: providing an ammunition cartridge mold comprising a bottom portion having a primer recess extending into the bottom portion adapted to receive a primer, a flash hole positioned in the primer recess through the bottom surface; side walls extending from the bottom portion to a nose end aperture, wherein a propellant chamber is formed between the nose end aperture and the bottom surface; injecting a metal composition into the ammunition cartridge mold to form a metal injection molded ammunition cartridge; and removing the metal injection molded ammunition cartridge from the ammunition cartridge mold.
Multi-piece polymer ammunition, cartridge and components
The present invention provides polymer ammunition, ammunition cartridge, ammunition case, and portions thereof having traditional and non-traditional cartridge shapes or profiles.
Method of Forming a Chamber for Polymer Ammunition
The present invention provides a method of forming a chamber in a firearm wherein the chamber is adapted to fit a polymer ammunition cartridge comprising the steps of: providing a barrel blank; providing a reamer having the dimensions of the desired polymer ammunition cartridge, wherein the reamer comprising a reamer profile corresponding to an ammunition cartridge having a reduced neck height comprising: a shortened neck having a projectile aperture, wherein the shortened neck is reduced by 25-100% of the neck height of a standard cartridge neck; a shoulder extending from the shortened neck to a cartridge side wall; and wherein the cartridge side wall extends from the shoulder to the base to form an interior propellant chamber; wherein the base comprises an extraction ring, a primer recess positioned in the base in communication with the propellant chamber through a flash hole that extends from the primer recess into the propellant chamber; contacting the reamer with the barrel blank to form a reamed barrel having a chamber having the corresponding profile that mates to the reamer profile; removing the reamer from the reamed barrel.

PRIMER DIFFUSER FOR POLYMER AMMUNITION CARTRIDGES
The present invention provides a diffuser cup or ring adapted to hold a primer used in an ammunition cartridge comprising a bottom surface sized to fit in a primer recess for an ammunition cartridge; a diffuser aperture positioned through the bottom surface and aligned with a flash hole; a cup wall attached to the bottom surface and extending away from the bottom surface; and an interior cavity bordered by the cup wall and the bottom surface and sized to frictionally fit a primer.
CARTRIDGE CASE AND TOOL FOR JOINING THE BASE PIECE AND CASE JACKET OF A MULTI-PART CARTRIDGE CASE
A cartridge case for ammunition may include a rotationally shaped case jacket for receiving a projectile and an annular base piece for receiving a primer and the case jacket. An annular wall of the base piece on the side of the case jacket is conically shaped at least in sections with respect to its axis of rotation. A retaining section of the case jacket on the side of the base piece is adapted in shape thereto so that the retaining section engages at least in sections behind the annular wall for fastening the case jacket and the base piece to one another. A distancing of the base piece and case jacket from each other may be prevented in the direction of the axis of rotation. The conical annular wall and the retaining section may be formed by plastic deformation of the base piece.
