Projectile, in particular in the medium caliber range
A projectile having a projectile body for holding a penetrator, a projectile rear, and a projectile ogive. The projectile body has a narrowed point, on which the penetrator can be supported. The narrowed point results in reliable breaking open of the projectile body when the projectile hits a target.
Multipurpose projectile apparatus, method of manufacture, and method of use thereof
The invention comprises a projectile, compliant with the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations and/or the United States Code, such as 18 U.S.C. § 921(a)(17)(B), which regulates bullet materials and mass fractions. For example, the invention is to a projectile comprising: (1) a metal core, such as a cobalt alloy core, including a base and a tip, where the base and the tip are separated by a core length along a z-axis running longitudinally through a center of the metal core; and (2) a jacket circumferentially attached to the metal core, the jacket surrounding at least fifty percent of the core length of the metal core, where the jacket includes: a polymer and a first jacket radial thickness along at least a section of an interquartile portion of the core length of greater than 0.03 inches.
ENHANCED PERFORMANCE AMMUNITION
This invention relates to a combination of a gun having a rifled barrel and a round of enhanced performance ammunition, and to a projectile for use in the combination. The invention is especially, but not exclusively related to a projectile with a nominal calibre, for use in a rifled barrel, the projectile comprising: an elongate metal core, a ceramic tip with a Vickers Hardness greater than said metal core, said ceramic tip abutted with one end of the elongate metal core, wherein a deformable jacket or deposited coating, surrounds the elongate metal core and ceramic tip, such that said jacket or coating defines the nominal calibre of said projectile.

Penetrator and sub-caliber projectile
A penetrator and a sub-caliber ammunition or projectile accommodating said penetrator. The penetrator according to the invention is characterized by the fact that the penetrator has an interface in the front area. Via said geometric interface, a basic penetrator devised in according to the invention can be provided having different penetrator tips and completed to form an individual KE penetrator.

Polymer ammunition having a projectile made by metal injection molding
The present invention provides an ammunition having a metal injection molded projectile and a polymer cartridge case comprising a polymer ammunition cartridge comprising a bottom portion and a top portion that enclose a propellant chamber, wherein the bottom portion comprises a primer recess in communication with a primer flash hole that extends into a propellant chamber and the top portion comprises a projectile aperture; a primer inserted into the primer flash hole aperture; a propellant at least partially filling the propellant chamber; and a metal injection molded projectile frictionally fitted in the projectile aperture, wherein the metal injection molded projectile comprises a nose extending essentially symmetrically to a shoulder, and an essentially cylindrical bearing surface extending from the shoulder to a base.

SUB-CALIBER PROJECTILE AND METHOD OF NEUTRALIZING A TARGET USING SUCH A PROJECTILE
A sub-caliber projectile of the kinetic energy type comprising a perforating rod surrounded by a sabot made of light material and allowing the projectile to be fired from a weapon, the rod being extended by a stabilizing tail. The tail is connected to the rod by a connection means that can be broken, the breaking being initiated by a control means integral with the projectile. The control means comprises a timing module which is connected to a programming interface and which is programmed before firing or during firing so as to ensure the breaking of the connection means at a reference distance relative to a target which is to be neutralized. The invention also relates to a method of neutralizing a target using such a sub-caliber projectile.
