MULTI-PIECE PROJECTILE
A two-piece firearm projectile includes a jacket and a penetrator. The proximal end portion of the penetrator is received in and mates with a corresponding recess defined in the inside surface of the jacket. A three-piece projectile includes a jacket, a slug, and a penetrator. The slug and at least part of the penetrator are encased by the jacket, where the slug is positioned between the base of the jacket and the proximal end of the penetrator. The proximal end of the penetrator overlaps axially and mates with the distal end of the slug. In one example, a frustoconical end of the penetrator is received in and mates with a frustoconical recess in the distal end of the slug or the jacket as the case may be.
Advanced modular ammunition and cartridges and systems
Modular cartridges are disclosed that can be initially assembled, disassembled, and reprocessed by hand. The cartridge case is suitable for use with a variety of projectile designs and weights and for use with a range of propellant amounts and primer types. The variety of projectiles and range of propelling forces permits the present invention to provide cartridges for all types of uses, including indoor and outdoor target shooting, training, non-lethal self-protection, and lethal uses. The cartridges include a case, a projectile, a primer, and a selectable amount of propellant (if any), and primer housing insert and which is configured to be releasably attached to the striking end of the case and to contain the primer and the desired amount of propellant.
Over penetration inhibiting and retaining mechanism
A retaining mechanism which may be launched to capture an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) or the like. A projectile deploys dampener arms to stop projectile penetration into the target while forward retention arms deploy to prevent a backward removal from the target. The firmly embedded mechanism might feature tracking means or destruction means, or the target may be pulled away by the tether to be evaluated for information.

Ceramic Bullet Tip to Assist Bullets in Shattering Glass
The present invention comprises a novel device, a ceramic cap that is firmly attached in a manner that prevents relative rotation axial movement or separation between the modified tip of an existing bullet and said cap to allow the modified bullet to shatter the glass of an automotive or truck windshield on contact, thus allowing the bullet to pass through the glass with a reduction of deflection incurred by non-modified bullets while producing larger bullet holes and areas of glass disruption than non-modified rounds and increasing the quantity and size of injury inflicting shrapnel.
HETEROGENEOUSLY STACKED MULTI LAYERED METALLIC STRUCTURES WITH ADIABATIC SHEAR LOCALIZATION UNDER UNIAXIAL DYNAMIC COMPRESSION
The present disclosure is directed to significantly improving the adiabatic shear banding susceptibility of pure refractory metals as well as overcoming the physical dimension limitations when making kinetic energy penetrators. These improvements may be achieved by arranging interlayers between plasticly deformed refractory metal material layers. Disclosed herein are methods of making material for kinetic energy penetrator applications, the methods comprising: severely plasticly deforming a refractory metal material until the grain size of the refractory metal material is within one of ultrafine grain and nanocrystalline regimes; arranging an interlayer material adjacent the refractory metal material; and diffusion bonding the interlayer material to the refractory metal material.

Alternate Armor Piercing Bullet Configuration
The alternate armor-piercing bullet is a firearm projectile that is designed to provide high accuracy and improved armor penetration. To accomplish this, the firearm projectile comprises a penetrator, a jacket, and a temperature-resistant metallic paste. The penetrator has an exterior tip with a full-length shaft positioned inside of the jacket. The outer surfaces of the shaft and the inner surfaces of the jacket are coated with the metallic paste. When the projectile is fired from a gun, the metallic paste holds the jacket and the penetrator together until impacting the armor. Once the armor is pierced, the penetrator's full-length shaft assists in directional stability, allowing the penetrator to maintain its trajectory and reach the intended target.

PENETRATOR AND SUB-CALIBER PROJECTILE
A penetrator and a sub-caliber ammunition or projectile accommodating said penetrator. The penetrator according to the invention is characterized by the fact that the penetrator has an interface in the front area. Via said geometric interface, a basic penetrator devised in according to the invention can be provided having different penetrator tips and completed to form an individual KE penetrator.
