Dispenser for firearm ammunition powder
A dispenser for dispensing powder for firearm ammunition and associated methods. The dispenser can include a hopper, a conveyor, a scale, a dispenser controller, and a tangible storage medium storing instructions executable by the dispenser controller. The dispenser controller can execute a powder calibration sequence and/or a dispensing sequence. In the powder calibration sequence and/or the dispensing sequence, the dispenser controller desirably learns the dispense rate of the powder and uses the dispense rate to optimize dispensing of the powder and increase precision in dispensing a target mass of powder. The conveyor can comprise a conveyor tube having a conveyor tube axis oriented to extend at an upward angle with respect to horizontal.
Dual barrel powder dispenser
A dual-barrel powder dispenser is provided. The dual-barrel arrangement may offer a highly-accurate, and highly efficient system and method for dispensing a consistent amount of powder. A controller in communication with the interface may determine the speeds at which each barrel rotates in order to dispense a volume and weight of powder from a hopper to a receptacle. A scale may monitor and determine the total weight of powder dispensed into the receptacle resting on the scale. The entire assembly may be self-contained in a single integrated body.
Vibratory powder trickler
A powder trickier is provided. The trickier includes a hopper for containing powder in bulk. A dispensing tube has a portion thereof in flow communication with the hopper. A vibrator is associated with the dispensing tube to induce powder flow from the hopper into and through the tube for dispensing powder from a tube outlet.
Automatic apparatus for high speed precision portioning of granules by weight
An automated granule portioning system includes at least one volumetric measuring chamber capable of adjusting the volume of the chamber automatically to a programmed target volume and arranged to receive a first portion of granules into the chamber to fill the target volume. A transport system automatically delivers the target volume of granules from the chamber to a weighing device. A granule metering device dispenses granules and, depending on a signal from the weighing device that the first portion of granules is below a programmed target weight, dispenses granules to the first portion to increase the weight to achieve a second portion having the target weight.
Method of improving the accuracy of rifle ammunition
A method of supplying a rifle with cartridges includes providing classes within a group of cartridges. The classes are classified by specific and precisely graduated increments of propellant load contained in the cartridges, or by formulation of propellant, of each class relative to the cartridges of each other class. The user can test fire a rifle with multiple classes of the group and record the accuracy of the firing. A class of the group can be then chosen for a particular rifle based on accuracy of the rifle in the test firing.
Hydrogen-propelled bullet and a method of making thereof
A hydrogen-propelled projectile for using with a firearm eliminates cleaning the firearm and a method of making the projectile eliminates storing explosive propellant. The projectile has a cylindrical brass body closed at top and sealed at bottom with a primer and a brass seal. When the projectile is used with the firearm, the primer ignites hydrogen in the presence of oxygen, producing water vapor and energy that propels projectile toward a target. To make the projectile a salt water solution is electrolyzed to produce hydrogen and oxygen. A mixture of hydrogen and oxygen is then fed to a loader. The loader fills up the projectile, attached at a gas outlet, with gas by exerting pressure on gas using a load piston and channeling gas to the projectile. Finally, the loader seals the projectile with the primer by pressing a primer ram and affixing the primer at bottom of the projectile.
Ammunition reloading system
An ammunition reloading system my have at least one local or remote controller connected to a volumetric dispenser and a kernel feeder. The controller can direct to flow of powder, such as gunpowder, to a vessel from the volumetric dispenser with a first granular resolution and from the kernel feeder with a second granular resolution where the second granular resolution is smaller than the first granular resolution.
