A rotating unit of a steam turbine includes a rotor; a bucket coupled to the rotor to convert fluid energy into mechanical work, the coupled bucket being pre-twisted at a predetermined angle, the bucket having a base surface facing a point of coupling between the rotor and the bucket; and bucket support means, provided at the point of coupling between the rotor and the bucket, for supporting a twisted state of the bucket based on the coupling between the rotor and the bucket, thereby enabling the twisting of the bucket to be maintained during operation. In a steam turbine including the rotating unit, it is possible to reduce vibration occurring during operation and to increase the contact force between a cover formed at the blade tip of the bucket and a cover of another bucket to prevent a leakage of steam between adjacent covers.

Turbine blade and assembly with dovetail arrangement for enlarged rotor groove

A turbine blade assembly for a rotor groove is disclosed. A dovetail of the turbine blade includes a mounting arm and an end surface facing radially inward relative to the rotor axis. An extension insert includes a first end configured to contact the end surface of the dovetail and a second end. At least one positioning leg extends radially inward relative to the axis from the second end of the insert. The dovetail and the extension insert are configured to be positioned in the rotor groove to mount the turbine blade to the rotor. The mounting arm engages a radially inward facing rotor hook of the rotor groove and positioning leg(s) engage one of a radially outward facing surface of the rotor groove and a planar plate shim between the positioning leg(s) and the radially outward facing surface of the rotor groove.

Drum blade lock in a circumferential rotor groove
10066487 · 2018-09-04 · ·

The subject application relates to blade root wedging lock in a circumferential groove in a rotor such as the drum of an axial turbomachine compressor. The body (32) of the lock includes a solid portion (38) designed to be housed in the groove and having two opposite bearing surfaces (40) and at least one circumferential wedging surface (42). The body (32) further includes an upper portion (36) in the shape of an elongated generally vertical chamber designed to be flush with the upper surfaces of the platforms of adjacent blades when the lock is correctly positioned. This chamber (36) is truncated (44) so as to reduce its length in a direction perpendicular to the circumference, corresponding to the axis of rotation of the rotor. The lock can thus be accommodated in a narrow groove without decreasing the diameter of the clamping screw passing through the hole (34). The subject application also relates to a rotor and a turbomachine equipped with the lock.

Rotor of a turbomachine

A rotor of a turbomachine. The rotor includes at least one blade (4, 6, 8) that has a blade leaf (20) and a blade root (54, 55, 58), and a rotor base body (2), in particular a disk (2), that has an outwardly open, circumferential groove (12) for receiving the blade root (54, 55, 58). The circumferential groove (12) and the blade root (54, 55, 58) are shaped in a way that allows the blade root (54, 55, 58) to be secured in the circumferential groove (12) by the rotation of the blade (4, 6, 8) about an axis (A.sub.r, A.sub.T).
