Variable displacement supercharger

A variable displacement supercharger includes a turbine having: a turbine housing that forms a scroll flow passage disposed around a turbine impeller; a variable nozzle unit that includes a second nozzle ring that faces the scroll flow passage and forms a part of an inner wall of the scroll flow passage; and an annular seal member that seals the gap between the turbine housing and the second nozzle ring. The seal member has a disc spring structure that is inserted into the gap and biases the turbine housing and the second nozzle ring in an axial direction of rotation, and is arranged further inside than the scroll flow passage in the radial direction of the turbine impeller.

The compressed air turbine DC power generator system can be used as an auxiliary power supply in the development process of an electric automobile, thereby effectively resolving the problem of range anxiety of a pure electric automobile.

The turbocharger includes a turbine to which exhaust gases can be supplied by two fluid ducts between which a separation wall extends; a closeable fluid connection hole in the separation wall that can be closed by a plate-shaped slider between the fluid ducts. The invention further relates to a motor vehicle comprising the turbocharger.

A hydraulic driving device for a steam valve includes a plurality of hydraulic actuators to generate driving force to be transmitted to the valve body through a valve shaft of the steam valve. The hydraulic actuators each include a cylinder, a piston that is capable of reciprocating in the cylinder, and a rod having respective ends connected to the piston and valve shaft. The hydraulic actuators include a main actuator including a throttle portion for regulating a flow of pressure oil in a hydraulic chamber defined by the cylinder and piston so that a damping force is applied to the valve body during its closing operation. The one or more hydraulic actuators other than the main actuator include at least one sub actuator not having the throttle portion. The hydraulic chamber of the sub actuator communicates with the hydraulic chamber of the main actuator.

Turbine impeller and variable geometry turbine

A turbine impeller includes: a hub portion coupled to an end of a rotational shaft; a plurality of main blades disposed at intervals on a peripheral surface of the hub portion; and a short blade disposed between two adjacent main blades among the plurality of main blades. An inter-blade flow channel is formed between the two adjacent main blades so that a fluid flows through the inter-blade flow channel from an outer side toward an inner side of the turbine impeller in a radial direction. In a meridional plane, a hub-side end of a leading edge of the short blade is disposed on an inner side, in the radial direction, of a hub-side end of a leading edge of the main blade.

A turbocharger includes a turbine impeller, a turbine housing which includes a scroll portion and a discharge port, a bypassing passage portion which guides a working fluid from the scroll portion to the discharge port, and a valve portion which controls the inflow of the working fluid to the bypassing passage portion. The hub side scroll is formed so that a cross-sectional area of a passage is larger than that of a shroud side scroll. The valve portion includes a hub side valve which controls the inflow of the working fluid from the hub side scroll to the bypassing passage portion and a shroud side valve which controls the inflow of the working fluid from the shroud side scroll to the bypassing passage portion. An operation of opening and closing the hub side valve is independent from an operation of opening and closing the shroud side valve.

A compressor with a compressor housing in which a compressor wheel is arranged. The compressor additionally includes a cartridge which is arranged in the compressor housing in the area of a compressor inlet. The cartridge is designed to variably change the cross section of the compressor inlet.

A centrifugal compressor includes: a housing including an intake flow path; a compressor impeller arranged in the intake flow path and including a plurality of blades; an accommodation chamber formed upstream of the blades in a flow of intake air in the housing; a movable member arranged in the accommodation chamber and movable to a protruding position where the movable member protrudes into the intake flow path and to a retracted position where the movable member is retracted from the intake flow path; a plurality of slits formed closer to the blades with respect to the accommodation chamber in the housing and connected to the intake flow path; a plurality of compartment walls circumferentially separating the plurality of slits; and an outer circumferential wall connecting radially outer ends of the plurality of compartment walls.

An entryway system includes a divided volute turbocharger having variable turbine geometry (VTG). The turbocharger includes a turbine housing, first and second volutes separated by a wall having a first and second tongue, and a turbine housing outlet. The system also includes a turbine wheel disposed in the turbine housing and a vane ring disposed in the turbine housing between the turbine wheel and the volutes. The system includes design modifications of one or more of the VTG components and/or locations of such components to manipulate the aerodynamic forces and/or subsequent mechanical loads in the VTG mechanism of the entryway system to mitigate VTG component wear during normal usage.

Adjustable-trim centrifugal compressor for a turbocharger

A centrifugal compressor for a turbocharger includes an inlet-adjustment mechanism in an air inlet for the compressor, operable to move between an open position and a closed position in the air inlet. The inlet-adjustment mechanism includes a plurality of vanes formed as ring segments and disposed about the air inlet and each movable circumferentially and radially inwardly through a slot in the air inlet wall so as to form an orifice of reduced diameter relative to a nominal diameter of the inlet. Movement of the inlet-adjustment mechanism from the open position to the closed position is effective to shift the compressor's surge line to lower flow rates.
