LIFTER PROVIDING IMPROVED CAM LOBE LUBRICATION
A cam follower assembly includes a cam roller, and a generally cylindrical body having an outer peripheral surface configured to be reciprocally slidable within a bore of an engine component. The cam roller is rotatably mounted on the body and configured to engage with a cam lobe on a camshaft of the engine. The cam lobe is operative to drive the body to a position at which the cam follower assembly causes one of opening of a valve or actuation of a fuel injector of the engine. A groove is formed in the body inset from the outer peripheral surface and extending axially along the outer peripheral surface parallel to the longitudinal axis of the body and aligned with an axial median plane of the cam roller and the cam lobe.
ROCKER ARM FOR AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A rocker arm for use in a valvetrain of a vehicle, having a body portion including two opposed side wall portions, each defining a bearing aperture therein and including a bearing boss disposed along a perimeter of the corresponding bearing aperture. A support bearing has a pair of opposed ends, each opposed end being received in a corresponding bearing aperture, and each bearing boss includes a first portion having a first radial thickness and a second portion having a second radial thicknesses, the first radial thickness being greater than the second radial thickness.
CHARGE CHANGING CONTROL DEVICE, RECIPROCATING ENGINE AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A CHARGE CHANGING CONTROL DEVICE
The present invention refers to a charge changing control device for a reciprocating engine, comprising at least one cam follower configured for being pivotably actuated around a pivot axis (P) upon rotational movement of a camshaft, and an adjustment unit configured for setting at least three different charge-changing modes of the device by translationally displacing the pivot axis relative (P) to a rotational axis (R) of the camshaft.
REVOLUTION ENGINE
Engine for producing mechanical energy by internal combustion of a fuel includes a shaft and a crank arm attached to the shaft. The engine further includes a casing, where the interior of the casing forms a hollow cavity dimensioned to allow the crank arm to rotate within the hollow cavity and the crank arm is capable of making a seal with the interior surface of the casing to block fluid passage. The interior of the casing also includes a bypass area that allows fluid passage around the crank arm. A first valve is positioned adjacent to the bypass area and a second valve is positioned adjacent to the bypass area opposite from the first valve. The first valve and the second valve are configured to block fluid passage when closed.
COUPLING DEVICE FOR A VALVE-ACTUATING DEVICE
The present invention relates to a coupling device for a valve-actuating device for actuating at least one valve of a reciprocating machine having variable valve lift, in particular for a valve-actuating device of a reciprocating internal combustion engine, to a valve-actuating device and to a reciprocating machine, the coupling device comprising a first coupling element, a second coupling element and a blocking means. The first coupling element and the second coupling element can be displaced relative to one another at least within defined boundaries along a first axis, it being possible for the blocking means to block the relative displacement of the two coupling elements with respect to one another along the first axis at least in a first direction. The blocking means comprises a blocking element, which can be rotated about the first axis in the circumferential direction at least in a defined region, the relative displacement of the two coupling elements along the first axis being blocked at least in the first direction if the blocking element is in a blocking position.
Variable valve timing system for an engine
An engine for a two-wheeled vehicle includes at least one cylinder comprising a combustion chamber and a cylinder head positioned adjacent the combustion chamber. The engine further includes a crankcase coupled to the at least one cylinder which includes a crankshaft. Additionally, the engine includes a valve train operably coupled to the crankshaft which includes at least one intake valve fluidly coupled to the combustion chamber, at least one exhaust valve fluidly coupled to the combustion chamber, at least one pushrod operably coupled to at least one of the intake valve and the exhaust valve, at least one camshaft operably coupled to the at least one pushrod and the crankshaft, and a cam phaser assembly operably coupled to the at least one camshaft and positioned generally outside an envelope of the cylinder head.
Valve drive for an internal combustion engine
A valve drive of an internal combustion engine may include a camshaft, at least one cam follower, and a hydraulic actuating element. The camshaft may include at least one first cam structured as a brake cam and a second cam structured as an exhaust cam. The at least one first cam may have a reduced cam lift relative to the second cam. The at least one cam follower may be connected to an exhaust valve of the internal combustion engine via a rocker. The hydraulic actuating element may include a plunger that is adjustable to an extended position and a retracted position. When the plunger is in the extended position, the hydraulic actuating element may be operatively connected to the brake cam providing a braking stroke. When the plunger is in the retracted position, the hydraulic actuating element may be operatively disconnected from the brake cam providing a cylinder cutout.
Drive adapter for concentric camshaft assembly
A camshaft phaser for a concentric camshaft assembly includes a stator defining a cavity and configured to receive power from an engine crankshaft. A rotor is supported within the cavity and is rotatable relative to the stator. A drive adapter has a shank and a head. The shank is extendable through the rotor and is configured to engage with an inner camshaft. The head has an end face defining a first key feature and a continuous groove. A drive plate is fixed to the stator and includes a radial wall defining a second key feature engageable with the first key feature to rotationally fix the drive adapter to the drive plate. An annular gasket is received in the groove and is sealable with the wall.
