Methods and systems for charge air cooler operation

Methods and systems are provided for adjusting engine operating parameters to regulate condensate formation in a charge air cooler. Based on conditions conducive to condensate formation, one or more of throttle valve position, active grille shutter opening and compressor speed may be regulated in order to decrease dew point temperature and condensation at the charge air cooler.

Fuel bypass system for gaseous-fueled engine

A method of operating a forced induction gaseous-fueled engine includes mixing gaseous-fuel and engine intake air to form a mixture at a fuel mixer. The method includes delivering the mixture to an intake manifold by at least partially bypassing a charge air cooler.

A Cooling System
20180051933 · 2018-02-22 ·

A cooling package for a vehicle, such as an agricultural tractor, having a charge air cooler assembly configured such that airflow is routed through a charge air cooler multiple times in order to cool a compressed charge of air. As the temperature rise experienced by the cooling airflow is relatively minor compared to the initial temperature of the compressed charge of air, the airflow is initially routed through an outlet-side portion of the charge air cooler to cool the compressed charge of air towards the outlet side of the charge air cooler, and subsequently routed through an inlet-side portion of the charge air cooler to cool the compressed charge of air towards the inlet side of the charge air cooler.

Heat exchanger

A heat exchanger includes: heat exchanger bodies arranged in parallel, each allowing a fluid to be cooled to flow therethrough in one direction; a housing that forms a coolant passage that allows a coolant to flow therethrough around each of the heat exchanger bodies; a coolant inlet portion and a coolant outlet portion located in a position corresponding to first ends of the heat exchanger bodies in a flow direction of the fluid to be cooled; a separating portion that separates the coolant passages in a position corresponding to second ends of the head exchanger bodies in the flow direction of the fluid to be cooled so that a communicating portion that allows the coolant passages to communicate with each other is left; and a flow passage area increasing portion that increases a flow passage area of the communicating portion. This structure achieves good cooling performance in the heat exchanger.

DIESEL ENGINE

This diesel engine includes a turbocharger which compresses intake air by utilizing a flow of exhaust gas, and an exhaust gas after-treatment device which purifies the exhaust gas, wherein an exhaust pipe connects the exhaust gas after treatment device and the turbocharger, and is connected upwardly to the exhaust gas after-treatment device. The exhaust pipe can have a curbed portion, and have one end and another end, and both ends can face towards a front direction of the diesel engine. The exhaust pipe can be extended to a rear side in the engine front-rear direction, then bent by 180 degrees, and after being extended to a front side in the engine front-rear direction below the turbocharger, can be bent upward and is connected to the exhaust gas after-treatment device. The turbocharger can have an intake ejection pipe which ejects the gas and faces towards the front direction.
