A turbocharger manifold is disclosed. In one embodiment, the manifold has a first exhaust conduit, a second exhaust conduit, and a valve. The first exhaust conduit has a first exhaust inlet and a first turbocharger outlet. The second exhaust conduit has a second exhaust inlet and a second turbocharger outlet. The second exhaust inlet is connected to the first exhaust conduit. The valve has an open position and a closed position and controls exhaust gas access from the first exhaust conduit to the second exhaust conduit.

The flap configuration has a lever element having a through-bore in which a cylindrical bushing is arranged. A flap having a pin is arranged on the lever element such that the pin passes through the bushing. A cover disk is arranged on an opposite side from the flap and has an opening through which the pin of the flap passes. The flap is riveted to the lever element by the pin.

A regulating rod (1) has a rod part (2) which has an end region (3) provided with an external thread and an end piece (4) which has a receiving recess (5). A knurled nut (6) is arranged and guided in the receiving recess (5) and has an internal thread into which the external thread of the externally threaded end region (3) is screwed. The end piece (4) further has a weld window (8) adjacent the knurled nut. Once the length of the regulating rod is adjusted by rotation of the knurled nut, further rotation of the knurled nut is prevented by introducing and filling the weld window with a weld filler such that the knurled nut (6) is non-detachably fixed and thereby the set length of the regulating rod is fixed.

In a valve drive apparatus, which drives a first valve and a second valve of a supercharger, a first rod is rotatably connected to a first valve lever shaft at one end part thereof to drive the first valve and is connected to a shaft at the other end part thereof, and a second rod is rotatably connected to a second valve lever shaft at one end part thereof to drive the second valve and is connected to a second member at the other end part thereof. A spring is placed between a first engaging part of the first member and a second engaging part of the second member and urges the first member and the second member to urge a first contact part of the first member and a second contact part of the second member toward each other.

A two-part wastegate valve member assembly comprises a support member and a valve member. The support member defines an aperture. The valve member comprises a central portion extending through the aperture and two opposed end portions disposed on opposite sides of the aperture. Each of the two end portions has dimensions such that the valve member is held captive by the support member. The central portion and two opposed end portions of the valve member are integrally formed. A method for forming the two-part wastegate valve member assembly comprises casting a single manufacturing intermediate and subsequently processing the manufacturing intermediate so as to form the two-part assembly.

METHOD AND SYSTEMS FOR REDUCING HEAT LOSS TO A TURBOCHARGER DURING COLD ENGINE STARTING

Systems and methods for reducing heat loss to a turbocharger during cold engine starting are described. In one example, a turbocharger bypass pipe and a turbocharger turbine pipe are oriented at forty five degrees relative to a longitudinal axis of a catalyst so that a turbocharger turbine may be completely bypassed, thereby increasing the amount of energy that may be transferred to the catalyst.

OPERATION MECHANISM OF TURBOCHARGER

An operation mechanism of a turbocharger includes: a driving member undergoes a reciprocating movement; a link plate rotationally coupled to the driving member through a first hinge-portion, wherein a first rotation-center of the first hinge-portion is moves linearly along a virtual line in a reciprocating manner in response to the reciprocating movement; and an operation lever. The operation lever includes: a first end operates a flow regulator of the turbocharger, wherein a swing center of the operation lever is located at the first end; and a second end rotationally coupled to the link plate through a second hinge-portion including a second rotation-center, wherein the second end is swings relative to the swing center when the first rotation-center moves linearly along the virtual line, and wherein a distance from the swing center to the second rotation-center is shorter than a distance from the swing center to the virtual line.
