The control unit includes a monitoring circuit adapted to monitor DC motor movement. The monitoring circuit is configured to receive signals from at least one voltage sensor adapted to sense voltage induced in at least one of the DC motor coils during a spring forced return of the throttle, and the monitoring circuit is configured to create a representation of DC motor movement based on said signals.

An electric throttle device and a controlling system used for a portable gasoline engine may include a rotation shaft and a throttle mounted on the rotation shaft, the throttle working to open or close the intake channel, and may further include a power unit, a transmission unit in a transmission connection with the power unit, and a controller. The transmission unit is matched with the rotation shaft, and the controller includes a circuit driving module for driving the power unit to control the opening or closing of the throttle. The electric throttle device enables co-movement of the throttle and the choker as well as automatic opening or closing.

A soot burn-off rate determined according to a model approach is maximized using a regulation process by means of a throttle valve.

The Intelligent Fault Tolerant Throttle Body prevents unintended acceleration of vehicles. This invention solves this emergency by returning the throttle plate to a safe position when commanded by a driver Emergency Button or by brake actuation. The device is installed on a conventional throttle body and comprises an Emergency Button (EB) and a Throttle Motor Controller (TMC). The TMC is a micro controller contained inside the throttle body assembly that intercepts and modifies signals from the engine control unit (ECU) to the Throttle Body Motor (TBM) and monitors the brake switch signal and the throttle position sensor (TPS). The TMC has an internal accelerometer and a throttle pedal sensor input as well as other sensors which are used as additional confirmation of a true unintended acceleration condition and not resulting from ECU, wiring or sensor failures.

A method of making a throttle body assembly, includes casting a main body portion having a passage there through and mounting features for pivotally mounting a throttle valve within the passage.
