CONTROLLER FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE AND CONTROL METHOD FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A controller for an internal combustion engine includes a detector and a processor. The detector detects a combustion condition of a gas in a cylinder of the internal combustion engine. The processor is configured to calculate a fuel ratio in the gas in the cylinder. The processor is configured to calculate a target combustion condition according to the fuel ratio. The processor is configured to calculate an ignition timing such that the combustion condition detected by the detector becomes equal to the target combustion condition.
Variable displacement engine control system and method
Methods and systems are provided for improving the performance of a variable displacement engine. Split injection and spark retard may be used in active cylinder during a VDE mode to heat an exhaust catalyst and extend the duration of VDE mode operation. Split injection and spark retard may also be used in reactivated cylinders at a time of cylinder reactivation to improve restart combustion stability.
System and method for controlling fuel injection characteristics in an engine
An engine control system includes first and second control modules. The first control module determines a fuel combustion parameter. The second control module determines a fuel delivery parameter based on the fuel combustion parameter. The fuel combustion parameter includes at least one of (i) a total amount of heat released by a volume of fuel during a combustion cycle and (ii) a rate at which heat is released during the combustion cycle. The fuel delivery parameter includes at least one of (i) a duration of time over which the volume of fuel is delivered to a cylinder, (ii) a time at which a fuel injector starts delivering the volume of fuel to the cylinder, and (iii) a fuel pressure in a fuel rail.
Method and apparatus for operating a vehicle, in particular a watercraft
A method is provided for operating a vehicle, in particular a watercraft, with at least one combustion engine that emits pollutants contained in an exhaust gas or wastewater. The current position of the vehicle is determined by a location determination. A closed-loop and/or open-loop control device is provided which sets or adjusts the quantity of at least one pollutant emitted by the combustion engine in a self-acting manner or automatically, in accordance with the determined position of the vehicle and with information on local pollutant regulations, in particular exhaust and/or water regulations.
INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE SYSTEM
An internal combustion engine system includes an internal combustion engine including an in-cylinder injection valve and a fuel pressure adjustment mechanism, and a control device that executes fuel injection control at a time of automatic restart of the internal combustion engine that is automatically stopped, by controlling the in-cylinder injection valve and the fuel pressure adjustment mechanism, in which the control device includes a first controller that executes the compression stroke injection a first number of times after an automatic restart request is made and control the pressure of the fuel to a predetermined value, and a second controller that executes the intake stroke injection a second number of times after the compression stroke injection is executed the first number of times and make the pressure of the fuel lower than the predetermined value.
CONTROL DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES
A control device for an internal combustion engine of a vehicle has a controller that controls a fuel injection valve of the internal combustion engine arranged to directly inject a fuel into a combustion chamber, and a pressure regulator of the internal combustion engine arranged to vary a pressure of the fuel supplied to the fuel injection valve. The controller performs a fuel cut that stops the fuel injection of the fuel injection valve when a predetermined fuel cut condition is satisfied during a traveling of the vehicle. The controller restarts the fuel injection of the fuel injection valve when a predetermined fuel cut recovery condition is satisfied during the fuel cut.
CONTROLLER FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A controller for an internal combustion engine including a fuel pressure control processor that controls a fuel pressure at a target fuel pressure, an instruction value calculating processor that calculates a peak instruction value, an upper limit guard processor that executes a guard process on the peak instruction value, an energizing processor that energizes the coil based on the peak instruction value that has undergone the guard process, a convergence determination processor that determines whether or not the detected fuel pressure has converged on the target fuel pressure, and a decreasing processor that decreases the upper limit guard value to a lower value when the fuel pressure has converged on the target fuel pressure than when the fuel pressure has not converged on the target fuel pressure.
Diesel low pressure/high pressure flow control system
A fuel injection apparatus for an internal combustion engine includes a fuel supply line in communication with a fuel tank and a fuel pump system. A fuel rail is connected to the fuel supply system and a plurality of fuel injectors. A return line extending from the fuel rail to the fuel tank. A by-pass passage extending from the supply line to the return line and including a pressure release valve having a pre-set activation pressure. A fuel temperature sensor for sensing a feed temperature of the fuel in the fuel supply system. A pressure control module that sets a first pressure set point in the fuel rail below the pre-set activation pressure when the feed temperature is below a predetermined temperature and sets a second pressure set point above the pre-set activation pressure of the pressure release valve when the feed temperature is above the predetermined temperature.
FUEL INJECTION CONTROL METHOD AND DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A fuel injection control method for an internal combustion engine is provided. The internal combustion engine includes a fuel pump (38) that pressure-feeds fuel, a fuel injection valve (19) that injects the fuel pressure-fed by the fuel pump directly into a cylinder of the internal combustion engine (1), and a fuel pressure detection device (45) that detects a pressure of the fuel pressure-fed by the fuel pump. The fuel injection control method executes a first smoothing process (S3) of performing a smoothing process on a detected fuel pressure by first smoothing, a second smoothing process (S4) of performing a smoothing process on the detected fuel pressure by second smoothing different from the first smoothing, and a selection process (S5) of selecting, based on an operating state of the internal combustion engine, whether to execute fuel injection control (S6, S7) based on a first detected fuel pressure smoothed by the first smoothing process or fuel injection control (S8, S9) based on a second detected fuel pressure smoothed by the second smoothing process.
