Cylinder head and engine
The cylinder head includes a plurality of port wall portions configured to form flow paths for intake and exhaust, an outer circumferential wall portion formed in an annular shape disposed at an interval on an outside of the plurality of port wall portions and having a water chamber through which cooling water flows and which is formed at least between the port wall portions and the outer circumferential wall portion, and a bottom wall portion configured to face a combustion chamber of an engine and to connect ends of the port wall portions and the outer circumferential wall portion, wherein the outer circumferential wall portion includes a padding portion of which a thickness is increased toward a side close to the port wall portions so that a distance between the port wall portions and the outer circumferential wall portion is equal to or less than a predetermined distance.
Cooling apparatus
A cooling apparatus includes a coolant passage provided in a device to be cooled. The coolant passage is configured in such a manner that coolant passes through the coolant passage. The coolant passage includes a wall surface, first ribs, and second ribs. The first ribs and the second ribs are provided on at least a part of the wall surface. The first ribs protrude from the wall surface toward inside of the coolant passage and extend in a first direction. The second ribs protrude from the wall surface toward the inside of the coolant passage and extend in a second direction crossing the first direction. The first ribs and the second ribs are disposed alternately when viewed in at least one direction.

Composite engine architecture, and method of manufacturing the same
An engine block assembly includes a head structure assembly, and a cylinder structure assembly. A plurality of fasteners interconnect the head structure assembly and the cylinder structure assembly. An outer shell encapsulates and supports both the head structure assembly and the cylinder structure assembly. The outer shell is a unitary polymer structure that is simultaneously over-molded onto the head structure assembly and the cylinder structure assembly. The head structure assembly and the cylinder structure assembly are constructed of components that are designed to carry the operational loads of the engine with minimal weight. The outer shell provides additional structural integrity, and provides fluid passages for lubrication and cooling, as well as support for other engine components.

Methods, assemblies, and apparatuses for forming a water jacket in a cast part of a marine engine
Methods, assemblies and apparatuses are for forming a cooling jacket in a cast part of a marine engine, for example in a cylinder head for the marine engine. A cooling jacket core comprises a longitudinally elongated first portion that forms a first flow path for conveying cooling fluid through the cast part in a first direction and a longitudinally elongated second portion that forms an opposite, second flow path for conveying cooling fluid through the cast part in an opposite, second direction. At least one bridge integrally supports the first and second portions with respect to each other during casting. At least one plug is configured to fit in the cast part where the bridge was located so as to separate the first and second flow paths from each other while sealing the first and second flow paths from an opposite side of the cast part.
