FUEL INJECTOR FOR GASEOUS FUEL AND VALVE ASSEMBLY FOR THE SAME

A fuel injector for gaseous fuel is provided. The fuel injector includes a valve assembly with a first valve and a second valve. The first valve is actively controlled to permit and prohibit gaseous fuel flow through the first injector. The second valve is spaced from the first valve and passively controlled to open in response to the gaseous fuel flow though the first valve, and to close when the gaseous fuel flow is terminated by closing the first valve.

Fuel injector

A fluid injector is shown and described, including an injector housing and an armature which is coupled to a valve needle. A first bellow surrounds a first space. A first axial end of the first bellow is connected to the injector housing and a second axial end of the first bellow is connected to a first axial side of the armature. A second bellow surrounds a second space. A first axial end of the second bellow is connected to a second axial side of the armature and a second axial end of the second bellow is connected to the housing.

High Pressure Gas Phase Injector

An injector, including: a moveable armature having a bore and upper and lower control surfaces; a lower housing including a bore and upper and lower stationary control surfaces; and a flow geometry defined along an exterior of the armature. The armature includes a transverse flow path fluidly coupled with the armature bore and the flow geometry. The lower housing includes a transverse flow path fluidly coupled with the lower housing bore. Upon moving the armature from a first position to a second position, a first flow path is formed between the flow geometry and the lower housing transverse flow geometry through a space between the lower stationary control surface and the lower armature control surface, and a second flow path is formed between the armature bore and the lower housing transverse flow geometry through a space between the upper stationary control surface and the armature upper control surface.

Dual fuel common rail engine with co-axial quill assembly

A dual fuel common rail engine supplies pressurized natural gas and liquid diesel fuel at different pressures through a co-axial quill assembly for direct injection from a single fuel injector into an engine cylinder. Pressure waves in the gaseous fuel common rail are damped in a pressure damping chamber of the co-axial quill assembly to promote consistent gaseous fuel injection rates and quantities from the fuel injector.
