AIR-TO-AIR CHARGE AIR COOLER (A-CAC) FOR A VEHICLE
A charge air cooler (CAC) includes a first header including a first interior portion, a second header spaced from the first header. The second header includes a second interior portion. At least one conduit extends between the first header and the second header. The at least one conduit includes a first end fluidically connected to the first interior portion, a second end fluidically connected to the second interior portion, and an intermediate portion extending therebetween. A heating system is arranged in a heat exchange relationship with the at least one conduit. The heating system is selectively operable to increase a temperature of fluids passing through the at least one conduit into one of the first and second headers.

Fuel filter heating device
A fuel filter heating device may include an exhaust gas pipe through which exhaust gas generated from an engine flows, a heat transfer medium, which is disposed near a fuel filter to receive radiation heat transferred from the exhaust gas pipe and transfer the radiation heat to the fuel filter upon contacting the fuel filter, and a temperature-sensitive actuator for moving the heat transfer medium in a selected direction depending on the temperature of fuel in the fuel filter such that the heat transfer medium contacts the fuel filter to heat the fuel in the fuel filter or the heat transfer medium is separated from the fuel filter to block heat transfer therebetween.
Bi-metal strip-seal
An improved seal assembly for use with a combustion liner assembly is employed with a gas turbine engine so as to control fluid flow. The seal assembly has a bi-metal sealing member that is affixed to a first surface that is proximal to a second perpendicular surface that is not in contact with the first surface, thus providing a potential fluid flow path. Upon heating, the bi-metal sealing member uncoils contacting the second perpendicular surface, thus blocking the flowpath between the two surfaces. Various metals may be provided to provide predetermined sealing characteristics.

System for selective liquid cooling of an air intake duct
A vehicle system, includes an air intake assembly including an inlet through which air flows, a filter downstream of the inlet, and an outlet downstream of the filter through which air from the filter flows, a liquid source, a valve, a temperature indicator and a controller. The valve is electrically actuated and arranged to selectively permit liquid flow from the liquid source to the air intake assembly. The temperature indicator provides an indication of a temperature in the air intake assembly upstream of the filter. And the controller is communicated with the temperature indicator and the valve and operable to open the valve when the output of the temperature indicator indicates a temperature above a temperature threshold.
