The lock tab is carried by and resiliently moveable relative to the attachment portion. The lock tab is located radially outward from the attachment portion and movable circumferentially about a central axis of the air filter. Another feature relates to using an end stop in a housing as a catch. Yet another feature relates to using a perforated end cap and capping such perforations with a housing seal.

AIR CLEANER APPARATUS WITH FASTENER
Provided is an air cleaner apparatus for an automotive air induction system. The apparatus includes a housing having an upper housing member and a lower housing member. An inlet is provided on the lower housing member, while an outlet is provided on the upper housing member. The apparatus also includes a replaceable serviceable filter. The upper housing member and the lower housing member are connected at an interface therebetween to define an internal volume. The filter is mounted within the internal volume proximal the interface. The upper and lower housing members are maintained in an assembled state using a serviceable latch assembly.
Fastening system for a vehicle component housing
A vehicle component housing, such as for an air filtration assembly, includes a first shell having a mount defining a retention feature, and a second shell having a flange. A fastener has a hooked region rotatably supported by the mount and configured to selectively mate with the retention feature to retain the fastener in a disengaged position. The fastener has a locking member configured to mate with the flange to retain the fastener in an engaged position. The fastener may be a spring clip fastener.

Filter Arrangement
A filter housing has a first housing part with a first rim section and a second housing part with a second rim section. The housing parts can be joined and separated from each other in axial mounting direction and define a housing interior for a filter element provided with a circumferentially extending sealing element. The first and second rim sections form a receiving area in which the sealing element is seal-tightly clamped radially between the first and second rim sections when the housing parts are joined in the mounted state. A snap connecting device axially braces the first and second housing parts relative to each other. The snap connecting device is formed integrally on the first and second housing parts such that a clamping force applied by the first and second rim sections on the sealing element in radial direction is decoupled from the snap connecting device.

A cover for an air intake box that is installed within an engine bay of an automobile and beneath a hood of the automobile is presented. The air intake box comprises an air filter and a housing. The cover comprises a base structure configured to be mounted to the housing. The base structure has an opening sized to allow access to the air filter. A hood is configured to be mounted to the opening, wherein the hood is sized to seal the opening. The hood is configured to uncover the opening and comprises a decorative ornamentation and is replaceable and interchangeable. The base structure and the hood are configured to seal the air intake box when the cover is installed on the housing.

A filter trap for a motor vehicle thermal device is made of polymer material and includes two longitudinal edges extending along a length thereof connected by two lateral edges extending along a width thereof. The trap includes a first assembly tab extending along the length thereof and fixed to one of the lateral edges. The trap also includes a snap coupling to block the trap. The snap-coupling is fixed to one of the longitudinal edges and is located in the vicinity of another of the lateral edges. The trap also includes a second assembly tab extending perpendicular to the first assembly tab. The second assembly tab is fixed to another of the longitudinal edges and is located in a vicinity of another of the lateral edges. The trap has sufficient flexibility along the length thereof to permit twisting of the trap about a longitudinal torsion axis of the trap.
