Super-pleated vehicle air filter
An apparatus and method are provided for an air filter configured to be mounted onto an air inlet of an internal combustion engine. The air filter comprises a first end cap configured to couple with a base which is configured to support a conventional air filter and provide an interface between the conventional air filter and the air inlet. A filter medium which is relatively thicker than the conventional air filter is configured to remove particulate matter and other contaminates from an incoming airstream. A second end cap is configured to couple with a cover which is configured to fasten the conventional air filter and the base onto the air inlet, such that the incoming airstream is directed through the filter medium. The air filter is configured to be installed in place of the conventional air filter without necessitating alteration of the base and cover.
Filter medium for filter, method for producing the same, and filter
Provided are a filter medium for a filter, which makes it possible to obtain a filter high in collection efficiency, low in pressure loss and long in filter lifetime, a method for producing the same, and a filter using the filter medium for a filter. A filter medium for a filter is used as a constituent member of a filter and composed of a wet type nonwoven fabric, wherein the filter medium for a filter has a multilayer structure of two or more layers, and there is no interface between the above-mentioned two layers.
Air cleaner for internal combustion engine
An air cleaner includes a housing and a filter element located within the housing. The housing includes a housing body and a fiber molding assembly. The housing body is formed by a plastic molding. The housing body has a wall located upstream of the filter element in an air flow direction and a recess, which is an inwardly recessed part of the wall. The fiber molding assembly is fixed to the wall, covers the recess from outside, and forms a part of a side wall of an inlet passage together with the recess. A communication hole for communication between the inlet passage and an interior of the housing body is formed in the recess.
Air filter with cantilever tab and engine air filter assembly incorporating same
An air filter, an air filter assembly, and method of installing the air filter into a housing of the air filter assembly are provided. The air filter includes an attachment portion and a lock tab. The lock tab is carried by and resiliently moveable relative to the attachment portion. The lock tab is located radially outward from the attachment portion and movable circumferentially about a central axis of the air filter. Another feature relates to using an end stop in a housing as a catch. Yet another feature relates to using a perforated end cap and capping such perforations with a housing seal.
Air filter arrangement; assembly; and, methods
Air filter cartridges are disclosed. Also described are air cleaners including the filter cartridges. Methods of assembly and use are also provided. Also, systems of use are described.
FILTER WITH PERFORATED END CAP AND PRE-FORMED GASKET CAPPING PERFORATIONS

Adsorber Element, Intake Air Filter System, and Method for Producing Such an Adsorber Element
An adsorber element for an intake air filter system of a motor vehicle is provided with a first flat filter material and a second flat filter material. Adsorber material particles are arranged between the first flat filter material and the second flat filter material. A cutout penetrates the first flat filter material and the second flat filter material. A fastening element is received in the cutout and prevents outflow of the adsorber material particles. The intake air filter system has a housing in which the adsorber element is received and non-detachably fastened to a housing wall of the housing.
Air filter and air cleaner using high density filter paper and vehicle using the same
Disclosed is an air filter using high density filter paper. The filter paper may include a thermally bonded non-woven fabric filter paper 10 having air permeability to filter foreign materials of passed polluted air and change the polluted air to fresh air. The non-woven fabric filter paper includes wrinkled portions 10-1 and 10-N that are folded at a predetermined interval. A thickness of the wrinkle portions 10-1 and 10-N are provided with dense layers 15 and 17 comprising a first polyethylene terephthalate (PET) fiber 20-2 that can shrink by heat and a second polyethylene terephthalate (PET) fiber 20-1 that deforms upon by heat treatment.
Non-woven filtration material and air cleaner element
Provided is a non-woven filtration material including a multilayer structure having a density gradient. The multilayer structure includes a coarse layer disposed at an upstream side of the non-woven filtration material and a dense layer disposed at a downstream side of the non-woven filtration material. The coarse layer and the dense layer are dry layers. The coarse layer contains 30% to 60% by weight of crimped conjugated fibers and contains 30% to 70% by weight of finer fibers. The crimped conjugated fibers have an average fiber diameter in a range from 15 m to 45 m. The finer fibers have an average fiber diameter that is in a range from 5 m to 20 m and smaller than the average fiber diameter of the conjugated fibers.
