REUSABLE AIR FILTER SYSTEM AND METHOD
A reusable air filter and methods are provided for filtering air being conducted to an air intake of an internal combustion engine. The reusable air filter comprises a filter medium configured to pass an airstream and entrap particulates flowing within the airstream. The filter medium is comprised of cotton gauze disposed in a sinusoidal arrangement that provides a filtration surface area that is larger than a perimeter area of the filter medium. An end cap and base may be configured to retain the filter medium therebetween. The base provides an interface between the air filter and an air inlet of the engine. The filter medium may be disposed in a flat, panel shape that is bordered by a supportive tray. Support rods may be embedded within the tray to prevent bowing of the tray due to air pressure when coupled with an air box of the engine.
Air filter arrangement; air cleaner assembly; and, methods
A media pack for including in a filter cartridge of an air filter arrangement, is provided. A variety of configurations for the media pack are described and shown, an example shown being trapezoidal. Filter cartridges including such media packs, air cleaner assemblies and equipment systems are described. Also methods of use assembly are described.
PANEL FILTER ELEMENT
Panel filter elements having a pleat block and a seal member are described. The panel filter elements are arranged such that the seal members and pleat blocks can have curved and/or angled elements. The seal member of a filter element may be curved, angled, twisted, and/or has a varying cross-section. The inlet and outlet faces of the pleat block of the filter element may be curved and/or twisted instead of planar. In some arrangements, both the seal member of the filter element and the faces of the pleat blocks can be curved and/or twisted. The described filter elements may be may be flexible, such that the shape of the filter element and/or seal can conform to the shape of a filter housing, or rigid, such that the shape of the filter element remains substantially the same before and after installation into a filter housing.
NON-CYLINDRICAL FILTER AND SIDE ENTRY AIR CLEANER INCORPORATING THE SAME
A filter element is provided that is preferably a side entry air filter having an air filter media pack, a housing seal and a frame that has a clamping projection, a pivot projection and/or guide members. The clamping projection can define a non-linear bearing surface that may be chevron shaped to provide for interface and potential alignment benefits. The housing seal may be a wave seal that undulates.

Air intake system for an engine
Methods and systems are provided for an air intake system. In one example, an air intake system is provided. The air intake system includes a first air inlet duct providing intake air to an engine intake conduit, the first air inlet duct including an opening positioned external to an engine compartment. The air intake system also includes a second air inlet duct positioned upstream of the engine intake conduit and external to the engine compartment, the second air inlet duct including a funnel shaped to flow air to only a portion of an air filter.
Apparatus for improving efficiency and emissions of combustion
A robust apparatus to improve the efficiency and emissions of a combustion process using a plurality of cell elements disposed within a housing that is placed in the air intake to a combustion chamber. The ozone cell includes an element assembly where the cell elements are bonded together with two or more mounting rings. The mounting rings incorporate rubber-like mechanical isolation such as an o-ring between the mounting rings and the cell elements. The cell elements may also include rubber-like isolation between the insulating tubes and the outer electrodes. The robust element assembly as described herein is better suited to survive the harsh environment of the ozone cell place in or near a combustion engine or process.
SIDE ENTRY WAVE SEAL AIR CLEANER
A filter element having a filter media pack with an inlet end, outlet end, and outer periphery extending therebetween. The inlet and outlet ends are separated along an axis. The outer periphery includes a first pair of opposed sides between the inlet and outlet ends, and a second pair of opposed sides extending transversely between the first pair of opposed sides. A frame supports the outer periphery, having opposing first frame side segments, and a second frame segment. Each first frame side segment includes a pair of guide projections extending along respective first sides. The guide projections are spaced apart from one another from a broad end at one second side, to a narrow end at the other second side, and arranged to receive axial forces received within a housing having complementary engagement surfaces. A housing seal is supported along one guide projection, sealing against the complementary engagement surfaces.
Filter element, element frame of a filter element, filter bellows of a filter element, filter housing, and filter
A fluid filter has a filter housing with inlet opening for fluid to be cleaned and outlet opening for cleaned fluid. A filter element arranged in an element receptacle of the filter housing separates inlet opening from outlet opening. The filter housing has a housing body with an installation opening to the element receptacle, through which the filter element in an installation direction is introduced into the element receptacle. The filter housing has a housing cover for closing the installation opening. The installation opening is arranged in a transverse side of the housing body that is lateral relative to the housing axis. The filter housing has a sealing surface, surrounding the housing axis at least partially circumferentially, for contacting a seal of the filter element. The filter element has a seal support device for the seal and the filter housing has a pressing device for the seal support device.
Filter element for an engine air filter assembly having a nonwoven pre-filter and related method
A filter element for an air filter assembly of an engine includes a primary filter media and a secondary filter media. The primary filter media has a plurality of pleats having first fold edges on an inlet face of the primary filter media and second fold edges on an outlet face of the primary filter media. The first and second fold edges extend from a first lateral side to a second lateral side of the primary filter media. The secondary filter media is constructed of a non-woven material and includes a first portion arranged on the inlet face of the primary filter media, a second portion secured to the first lateral side of the primary filter media, and a third portion secured to the second lateral side of the primary filter media.
