Venturi fluid pump with outlet flow controller

A fuel pump for a fuel system includes a nozzle, a venturi, a pump inlet and a flow controller. The nozzle has an orifice through which fuel is ejected and the venturi is downstream of the nozzle and has an inlet through which fuel discharged from the orifice flows, a passage downstream of the venturi inlet through which fuel flows to create a drop in pressure in the area of the venturi, and an outlet through which fuel is discharged from the venturi. Fuel is drawn through the pump inlet by the drop in the pressure created in the area of the venturi and the flow controller is downstream of the outlet and has a chamber in which fuel from the venturi outlet is received. The flow controller causes fuel to fill the venturi to ensure performance of the fuel pump.

The tabs are circumferentially spaced apart with a void between at least part of the tabs, and at least two tabs have a contact portion that extends radially inwardly to define a minimum diameter opening between the tabs. Each contact portion extends along a portion less than all of the surface areas of the radially inner surface of the tabs.

Fuel pump assembly

A pump assembly for a fluid tank extends along a longitudinal axis and includes a cover at an external end, the cover including a flange that extends radially outward of the longitudinal axis, an insertable end opposite the external end along the longitudinal axis, and a rotatable arm that is flexible such that, when the rotatable arm is resiliently bent such that the rotatable arm has a radial extent, from the longitudinal axis, that is less than the flange, the sender assembly is in a compact state in which the insertable end and the flange would be able to move straight along the longitudinal axis, which is coaxial with a center axis of an opening of the fluid tank, from a position where the insertable end initially enters the opening to a position where the flange engages the fluid tank.

Tank Closing Structure

A tank closing structure includes a tank body configured to store a liquid, a lid member that closes an opening formed in the tank body and has a liquid swelling property, and a holding ring that holds a flange portion of the lid member on the tank body. The tank closing structure further includes a deformation promoting portion for promoting deformation in which a radially central portion of the lid member is recessed inward of the tank body in response to the swelling of the lid member.

Automatic adjusting fuel boost pump

A fuel supply system for an aircraft includes a fuel tank configured to supply fuel to an engine of an aircraft, a boost pump in operational communication with the fuel tank, wherein the boost pump is configured to control at least one of a fuel level and a fuel pressure in the fuel tank, and an electronic controller in communication with the boost pump and configured to control the boost pump. The electronic controller is configured to receive received information including (i) fuel information, (ii) flight information, and (iii) aircraft information, and configured to control the boost pump based on the received information.

Fuel Supply Device

A fuel supply device is insertable into a fuel tank through an opening formed in an upper wall of the fuel tank in an insertion direction. The fuel supply device includes a flange unit and a pump unit coupled to the flange unit. The pump unit includes a guide member extending in the insertion direction. The guide member is configured to abut on an opening periphery so as to guide the pump unit when the pump unit is inserted into the fuel tank. A guide surface of the guide member includes a concave surface.

FUEL PUMP MODULE

A fuel pump module includes a fuel pump, a housing, a filter, a bracket, a lid, a fuel passage, and a pressure regulating valve. The fuel pump supplies a fuel in a fuel tank that defines an opening to an outside of the fuel tank. The housing has a cylindrical shape and supports the fuel pump. The bracket connects the filter to the housing. The lid covers the opening and defines a discharge port through which the fuel is supplied to the outside. The fuel passage connects the fuel pump to the discharge port. The pressure regulating valve has a gravity center inside a space defined by a first virtual cylindrical surface including the housing. A minimum circumscribed circle of both the housing and the filter is smaller than the opening.

FUEL PUMP MODULE, FUEL SUPPLY DEVICE, AND METHOD OF INSTALLING FUEL PUMP MODULE IN FUEL TANK

A fuel pump module includes: a pump unit; a lid provided to close an opening of a fuel tank; and a flexible fuel tube. The pump unit includes a fuel pump configured to pump fuel out of the fuel tank, a housing that holds the fuel pump, and a filter configured to filter the fuel. The lid has a discharge port to supply the fuel to outside of the fuel tank. The flexible fuel tube connects the pump unit and the discharge port. The housing includes a guide portion configured to fix the pump unit to a fixing member having a pair of rails provided in the fuel tank, and a separation regulating member configured to regulate the guide portion from separating from the pair of rails by engaging with the fixing member.
