A fuel system includes a fuel pump having an inlet and an outlet. The fuel system also includes a jet pump assembly having a first fuel passage defined by a first tube, the first fuel passage having a first fuel passage inlet and a first fuel passage outlet; and a second fuel passage defined by a second tube and connected to the outlet of the fuel pump, the second fuel passage having an exit orifice which discharges a first flow into the first fuel passage which draws a second flow into the first fuel passage through the first fuel passage inlet such that the first flow and the second flow combine in the first fuel passage and exit the first fuel passage through the first fuel passage outlet. The second fuel passage also has an initial orifice arranged upstream from, and in series with, the exit orifice.

Fuel system for a motor vehicle

A fuel system for a motor vehicle includes a fuel pump having a first pump outlet connectable to an engine fuel inlet and a second pump outlet, a fuel pump module including an internal volume, a fuel pump module outlet is arranged in the internal volume fluidically connected to the second pump outlet, and a fuel valve is fluidically connected to the second pump outlet. The fuel valve is operable to fluidically isolate the fuel pump from the fuel pump module when fuel in the internal volume reaches a selected fuel level.

Fuel supply devices

A fuel supply device includes a cover member which is attached to an opening of a fuel tank, a pump unit comprising a pump, and a connecting portion for connecting the cover member and the pump unit. The pump unit is connected to the connecting portion so as to be relatively movable to the cover member. When the fuel supply device is attached to the fuel tank, an engagement portion provided at a lower portion of the pump unit abuts the connecting portion such that via the engagement portion the connecting portion presses the pump unit against the fuel tank.

A fuel-feeding device may include a fuel tank storing fuel therein, a fuel pump configured to feed the fuel in the fuel tank to an engine through a fuel-feeding conduit, an aspirator configured to generate a negative pressure therein using a flow of the fuel flowing through a branched conduit branched from the fuel-feeding conduit, a negative pressure sensor configured to detect the negative pressure generated by the aspirator, and a control device configured to control a revolution speed of the fuel pump. The control device is configured to determine a sign of vapor generation in the fuel stored in the fuel tank based on detection information of the negative pressure sensor.

Fuel system having a jet pump

A fuel system includes a fuel pump and a jet pump assembly. The jet pump assembly includes a first fuel passage defined by a first tube. The jet pump assembly also includes a second fuel passage which receives pressurized fuel from the fuel pump, the second fuel passage having a primary orifice centered about and extending along a primary orifice axis such that the primary orifice axis is directed into the first fuel passage and such that the primary orifice introduces a first flow of fuel into the first fuel passage. The second fuel passage also has a secondary orifice centered about and extending along a secondary orifice axis which is not coincident with the primary orifice axis and which is directed at an inner surface of the first tube and the secondary orifice introduces a second flow of fuel into the first fuel passage which impinges the inner surface.

Fluid Conveying Device

A fluid-conveying device for conveying a fluid from a tank includes: a first fluid-conveying pump; a swirl pot; and a second fluid-conveying pump having a drive region and a conveying region coupled to the drive region. The fluid is conveyable from the swirl pot by the first fluid-conveying pump, and the conveying region is configured and arranged so as to be drivable by the drive region.

Method for operating a dual lift pump system

Methods and systems are described for a fuel system in an engine comprising two lift pumps. One example method comprises deactivating one of a first lift pump and a second lift pump if fuel fill level in a common reservoir decreases below a threshold fill level, wherein the first lift pump and the second lift pump are positioned in the common reservoir. By deactivating one of the two lift pumps, the two lift pumps may be protected from degradation due to fuel starvation.

A pump module is disposed on a bottom portion of a fuel tank in the fuel tank. The pump module includes a suck-up unit for sucking up a fuel and a plurality of engaged portions. A bracket includes a base portion, a plurality of engaging portions, and a flow path. The base portion is a frame member fixed to the bottom portion and surrounding the pump module in a state where a lower end portion is in contact with the bottom portion. The engaging portions protrude from the base portion toward an upper side of the fuel tank and are respectively engaged with the engaged portions of the pump module. The flow path is disposed in the base portion and allows an inside of a frame of the base portion and an outside of the frame of the base portion to communicate with each other.

A fuel system for a motor vehicle includes a fuel pump having a first pump outlet connectable to an engine fuel inlet and a second pump outlet, a fuel pump module including an internal volume, a fuel pump module outlet is arranged in the internal volume fluidically connected to the second pump outlet, and a fuel valve is fluidically connected to the second pump outlet.
