FAULT-TOLERANT FUEL ISOLATION FROM ENGINE FIREBAY
Fuel isolation systems, apparatuses and methods are described. In some embodiments, a system comprises a fuel tank, a fuel pump, an engine, a firewall, a fuel line from the fuel tank to the engine, a connector coupled inline with the fuel line on a cold side of the fuel line, a valve coupled to the connector, an air feed line coupled to an air source and to the valve. In the event of an engine fire condition, a control unit outputs signaling to turn off the fuel pump and operate the valve to introduce air from the air source into the fuel line. The introduced air provides a siphon break in the fuel line such that the only fuel that can pass the firewall is the remaining fuel in the fuel line downstream of the connector and the introduced air.
Method and assembly for delivering fuel in a fuel tank
The present disclosure is related to a method and an assembly for delivering fuel in a fuel tank (10), wherein the fuel tank comprises at least a first chamber (12) having a module pot (18) disposed therein and at least a first pump (30) adapted to deliver fuel from the first chamber to the module pot, and wherein a fuel pump (20) for delivering fuel to an engine is disposed within the module pot. In order to minimize the duty cycle of the pumps and therefore the energy consumption, it is proposed according to the present disclosure that a sensor device (22) is used to detect a predetermined minimum fill level in the module pot, wherein the pump disposed in the first chamber is activated when the minimum fill level is reached and is deactivated after a predetermined time interval or when a predetermined higher fill level in the module pot is reached.
Controller integrated type fuel pump module for preventing thermal deformation of flange
Provided are a controller integrated type fuel pump module for preventing thermal deformation of a flange and a manufacturing method thereof. An embodiment of the present invention is directed to providing a controller integrated type fuel pump module for preventing thermal deformation of a flange that minimizes heat transfer from a board to the flange through a thermal insulation effect by an air gap by improving a structure in a storage part of a controller to form the air gap between the board and the flange in the controller formed integrally with a fuel pump module, and a manufacturing method thereof.
Fuel supply device
A fuel supply device includes a flange unit and a pump unit. The flange unit includes a flange main body for closing an opening formed in an upper wall of a fuel tank. The pump unit includes a joint member that is connected to the flange main body so that both components may be movable relative to each other in the vertical direction. The interval in the vertical direction between the flange main body and the joint member is restricted from going below a minimum vertical interval. The minimum interval occurs when a stand-off portion provided as part of the flange main body and a connecting plate portion provided as part of the joint member come into mutual contact with each other and abut each other in the vertical direction.
Managing a fuel for a power generator
Techniques for managing a fuel for a power generator include storing a volume of a fuel in a primary fuel storage tank that includes an inlet and an outlet; generating electrical power with a solar power assembly; operating a pump assembly with the generated electrical power to circulate a flow of the fuel from the primary fuel storage tank to a fuel filter; removing at least a portion of contaminants from the flow of the fuel; circulating the flow of the fuel to a fuel quality sensor; measuring a quality value of the flow of the fuel; and based on a signal from the fuel quality sensor associated with the quality value of the flow of the fuel, operating a control valve to direct the flow of the fuel from the fuel quality sensor to the primary fuel storage tank from the control valve or an auxiliary fuel storage tank from the control valve.
FAULT-TOLERANT FUEL ISOLATION FROM ENGINE FIREBAY
Fuel isolation systems, apparatuses and methods are described. In some embodiments, a system comprises a fuel tank, a fuel pump, an engine, a firewall, a fuel line from the fuel tank to the engine, a connector coupled inline with the fuel line on a cold side of the fuel line, a valve coupled to the connector, a fluid feed line coupled to a fluid source and to the valve. In the event of an engine fire condition, a control unit outputs signaling to turn off the fuel pump and operate the valve to introduce fluid from the fluid source into the fuel line. The introduced fluid provides a siphon break in the fuel line such that the only fuel that can pass the firewall is the remaining fuel in the fuel line downstream of the connector and the introduced fluid.
VENTURI PUMP SYSTEM FOR A FUEL SENDING UNIT
A fuel system for a vehicle comprising a fuel tank having a fuel tank reservoir. A lift pump is outside of the fuel tank and includes an inlet, and first and second outlets, with the inlet being configured to receive fuel from the fuel tank. The lift pump is configured to output fluid from the first outlet at a first prescribed pressure. A venturi pump is located within the fuel reservoir and defines a venturi pump reservoir. The venturi pump includes a venturi jet including a drive inlet configured to be fluidly connectable to the first outlet of the lift pump to receive fluid therefrom. A suction inlet is configured to be placeable in fluid communication with the fuel tank reservoir and to draw fluid from the fuel tank reservoir into the venturi pump reservoir in response to fluid flowing through the venturi jet at the first prescribed pressure.
