Fault-tolerant fuel isolation from engine firebay

Fuel isolation systems, apparatuses and methods are described. In some embodiments, a system comprises a fuel tank, a fuel pump, an engine, a firewall, a fuel line from the fuel tank to the engine, a connector coupled inline with the fuel line on a cold side of the fuel line, a valve coupled to the connector, a fluid feed line coupled to a fluid source and to the valve. In the event of an engine fire condition, a control unit outputs signaling to turn off the fuel pump and operate the valve to introduce fluid from the fluid source into the fuel line. The introduced fluid provides a siphon break in the fuel line such that the only fuel that can pass the firewall is the remaining fuel in the fuel line downstream of the connector and the introduced fluid.

Cover for Fuel Tank

A cover for a fuel tank includes a flange unit configured to close an opening of the fuel tank and a joint member connected to the flange unit . The joint member is movable in an upward/downward direction. The flange unit includes a side tubular portion extending in the upward/downward direction . The joint member includes a support column portion extending in the upward/downward direction . The support column portion is movably disposed in the side tubular portion so as to be movable in the upward/downward direction. The support column portion is connected to the side tubular portion by a snap-fit so as to be movable and suspendable in the upward/downward direction.

Provided are a controller integrated type fuel pump module for preventing thermal deformation of a flange and a manufacturing method thereof. An embodiment of the present invention is directed to providing a controller integrated type fuel pump module for preventing thermal deformation of a flange that minimizes heat transfer from a board to the flange through a thermal insulation effect by an air gap by improving a structure in a storage part of a controller to form the air gap between the board and the flange in the controller formed integrally with a fuel pump module, and a manufacturing method thereof.

Fuel pump assembly

A sender assembly that has a compact state, which may allow a pump assembly including the sender assembly to be easily inserted into an opening of a fluid tank. For example, the pump assembly may be insertable into the opening of the fluid tank while a longitudinal axis of the pump assembly remains coaxial with the opening. When in the compact state a rotatable arm and a float of the sender assembly may be entirely within or deformable to be within a predetermined envelope that has a radial extent less than the opening of the fluid tank to allow the sender assembly to be inserted straight into the opening. The predetermined envelope may be coaxial with the longitudinal axis and have a cross-section transverse to the longitudinal axis that matches the opening of the tank.

Fuel feed module with integral resistor

A fuel feed module for delivering fuel from a fuel tank includes a fuel feed pump and a flange. The fuel feed module is fixable to the fuel tank by the flange. The fuel feed module includes a resistor, which is electrically conductively integrated into a ground path of the fuel feed pump, the resistor being integrated into the flange of the fuel feed module.

An assembly includes a mounting flange, support, carrier, reservoir and fuel pump. The mounting flange has a fluid passage extending through the mounting flange. The support is coupled to the mounting flange, and the carrier is coupled to the support with the weight of the carrier acting in compression on the support. The reservoir is carried by at least one of the carrier and the mounting flange with the weight of the reservoir acting on the carrier and/or the mounting flange, and the reservoir defining an interior. The fuel pump is carried by at least one of the carrier and the reservoir, the fuel pump has an inlet received within the reservoir interior and an outlet from which pressurized fuel is discharged from the fuel pump when the fuel pump is operating. The support defines at least part of a passage that is communicated with a fluid source.

A fuel delivery unit in a fuel tank includes a fuel pump drivable by an electric motor. The fuel pump has at least one suction jet pump for delivering fuel, the suction jet pump being operated by a propulsion jet that is deliverable by the fuel pump. The fuel pump is arranged in a swirl pot, which is fillable by the suction jet pump, and the fuel pump has a first outlet, through which fuel is deliverable to a consumer, and a second outlet openable or closable by a valve.

Suction filter and fuel supply device

A suction filter includes a filter element disposed in a fuel tank and filtering a stored fuel that is a fuel stored in the fuel tank by allowing the stored fuel passing the filter element into an inner space, a dividing wall element disposed to divide the inner space into a first space, into which a filtered fuel that is the fuel filtered by the filter element flows, and a second space, to which an intake port drawing in the filtered fuel is opened, and enclosing the first space together with the filter element and enclosing the second space together with the filter element, and a passage element including an inflow port opened to the second space and an outflow port to which an intake pressure is applied by the intake port and defining a flow passage through which filtered fuel flows from the inflow port toward the outflow port.

FUEL PUMP WITH VAPOR PURGE VALVE ASSEMBLY

A fuel pump includes a housing which is tubular; an inlet plate closes one end of the housing and an end cap closes the other end of the housing. The end cap includes an outlet passage and a vapor purge passage. An electric motor within the housing rotates a pumping element to pump fuel through the fuel pump. A valve assembly of the fuel pump includes a valve member located within the purge passage, the valve member being moveable between a first position which blocks fluid communication therethrough and a second position which provides fluid communication therethrough.
