The invention relates to a device (10) for preparing a cooled or frozen and/or foamed product, comprising:a container (20) where a certain quantity of a fluid at ambient temperature is stored;expelling means (109) configured to deliver a certain quantity of the fluid into a processing chamber (108) at a certain flow rate;a processing element (101) rotatable within the processing chamber (108) and configured to mix and/or scrap and/or foam the fluid in the processing chamber;a cooling element (105) providing a certain cooling power configured to cool at least partially the processing chamber (108) which is at least partially in contact with the fluid. A cold drink apparatus, system, and method of operation for producing a chilled or partially frozen beverage product, often referred to as a slush beverage or granita beverage. The apparatus includes a chilling structure and some form of blade or auger that moves relative to the chilling structure to strip product off and circulate the beverage along the chilling structure. The apparatus further includes a heating structure and heating operation to heat to at least partially thaw the product so that it returns to a generally liquid or solution state. Such heating operation reduces downtime for permitting for machine maintenance and/or permitting the sugar or solution within the product to be redistributed and refrozen to maintain desired qualities and consistency of the product.

A system and method for producing rolled ice cream comprising a housing, a plate member located on a top surface of the housing, a compressor configured to provide compressed refrigerant, and a condenser coupled to the compressor. The condenser is configured to provide cooled refrigerant to a bottom surface of the plate member via an outlet tube. The system further comprises a balance valve, wherein the balance valve is configured to enable the refrigerant to bypass the outlet tube while the compressor and condenser are still operational when it is determined that the plate member has reached a predetermined minimum operational temperature.
