FUEL INJECTOR BODY WITH COUNTERBORE INSERT
An insert for use with a fuel injector comprises a shaft including a substantially cylindrical configuration defining a shaft cylindrical axis, a shaft radial direction, and a shaft diameter; and a head including a substantially cylindrical configuration defining a head cylindrical axis, a head radial direction, and a head diameter. The shaft and head may be attached to each other, the shaft cylindrical axis and the head cylindrical axis may be parallel to each other, the head diameter may be greater than the shaft diameter, and the shaft cylindrical axis may be spaced away from the head cylindrical axis.
FUEL INJECTION DEVICE
A fuel injection device for smooth discharge of a gas accumulated therein comprising a fuel pump, a solenoid valve for injecting pressurized fuel into the intake passage of an engine, a high-pressure fuel passage extending from the fuel pump to the solenoid valve and has a medially positioned constant-pressure chamber, and a fuel return passage connected to a fuel return pipe, with the fuel return passage extending from the constant-pressure chamber and having a medially positioned priming pump. The constant-pressure chamber is configured with the top wall in the upper space thereof disposed above the opening of the high-pressure fuel passage opposite the solenoid valve, the fuel return passage opens into the upper space at a position above the opening of the high-pressure fuel passage, and the gas accumulating in the constant-pressure chamber is discharged from the upper space toward the fuel tank via the fuel return passage.
CONTROLLER FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE, INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE, AND CONTROL METHOD OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
When a pressure of fuel is intensified using a pressure intensifier an electronic control unit is configured to set a target common rail pressure to be higher as a fuel leakage volume that is a volume of fuel leaking from a common rail to a fuel tank becomes larger until a three-way valve is switched from a state in which the pressure intensifier is connected to the common rail to a state in which the pressure intensifier is connected to the fuel tank.
CONTROL SYSTEM INCLUDING CONTROL DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A control system includes an internal combustion engine and a control device. The internal combustion engine includes a pressurization device. The pressurization device includes a housing having a cylindrical shape, a piston, a pressurization chamber, a piston chamber, a pressurization control chamber, and a switching device configured to selectively connect the pressurization control chamber with a high pressure fuel channel or a low pressure fuel channel. The control device estimates the temperature of the low pressure fuel channel, When the estimated temperature of the low pressure fuel channel is lower than the temperature of the pressurization device, and the temperature of the pressurization device is higher than a predetermined cooling request temperature, the control device controls the switching device to connect the pressurization control chamber with the low pressure fuel channel.
Fuel valve for injecting gaseous fuel into a combustion chamber of a self-igniting internal combustion engine, engine, method and use
A fuel valve (50) for injecting gaseous fuel into the combustion chamber of a self-igniting internal combustion engine. The fuel valve (50) comprises an elongated fuel valve housing (52) with a rear end and a front end, a nozzle (54) with an elongated nozzle body with a hollow interior that forms a chamber (55) connected to nozzle holes (56), the nozzle (54) being arranged at the front end of the fuel valve housing (52), a gaseous fuel inlet port (53) in the elongated fuel valve housing (52) for connection to a source (60) of high pressure gaseous fuel, an ignition liquid inlet port (78,98) for connection to a source of ignition liquid (57), means (61,69,53,58,61,69) for establishing a timed fluidic connection between the gaseous fuel inlet port and the ignition space (55), and means (61,67,69,76,79,85,98,99) configured for a timed delivery of a finite volume of ignition liquid to the chamber (55) for igniting the gaseous fuel inside the chamber (55).
