Control device for high-pressure fuel pump

Low noise control of a high-pressure fuel pump is performed by reducing noise generated by an anchor colliding with a fixing core. A control device 800 for a high-pressure fuel pump controls a suction valve that opens and closes an inflow port through which fuel flows to a pressurizing chamber by performing energization to a solenoid 205 in synchronization with a reciprocating motion of a plunger. A current energized to the solenoid 205 includes a peak current for giving a force to start closing a valve to the suction valve in a stationary state and a holding current for performing switching in a range smaller a maximum value of the peak current in order to hold the suction valve in a valve closing state. When the control device 800 reduces a peak current application amount of the peak current from a value sufficient to close the high-pressure fuel pump, a valve closing speed of the suction valve becomes small up to a certain application amount, and when the peak current application amount becomes smaller than the application amount, there is a saturation range of a current application amount of the peak current in which the valve closing speed of the suction valve is saturated. The control device 800 controls the current application amount of the peak current to fall in the saturation range.

AN ARRANGEMENT FOR PROTECTING A HIGH-PRESSURE ACCUMULATOR FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM
20200408181 · 2020-12-31 ·

A system for protecting a high-pressure accumulator fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine against excessively high fuel pressures occurring in a high-pressure accumulator of the fuel injection system caused by a malfunction in the fuel injection, wherein the system comprises a member measuring the fuel pressure inside the high-pressure accumulator and sending information about this pressure to a control unit. An electrically controllable inlet valve to a pumping element of a high-pressure pump is included in the system and controlled by the control unit to be transferred to a continuously open or closed state, if the pressure measured exceeds a predetermined pressure level for stopping the feeding of fuel by the pumping element to the high-pressure accumulator.

Valve device and high pressure pump using the same

A valve seat has an inner passage and outer passages. A suction valve member has first passages and a first projection portion that guides, to the first passages, the fuel that flows from a pressure chamber at the time of valve opening. Therefore, an action force by the dynamic pressure applied to the suction valve member in the valve closing direction is reduced. An action force by the pressure of fuel that flows into pressure equalization grooves counterbalances the action force by the dynamic pressure of the suction valve member. Therefore, self-closing by the dynamic pressure can be inhibited, and the maximum output of an electromagnetic driving unit can be reduced. Fuel flows through a passage radially outside the suction valve member and the first passages. A fluid passage area is securable even when a lift amount of the suction valve member is small.

Fuel pump and inlet valve assembly thereof

A fuel pump includes a fuel pump housing with a pumping chamber; a pumping plunger which reciprocates within a plunger bore; and an inlet valve. The inlet valve includes a valve body having a valve body bore; an inlet passage; and an outlet passage. The inlet valve also includes a check valve which moves between a seated position and an unseated position, wherein the seated position prevents flow through the outlet passage into the valve body bore and the unseated position permits flow through the outlet passage such that the valve body bore is in fluid communication with the pumping chamber. The inlet valve also includes a valve spool which moves between a first position where the valve spool maintains the check valve member in the unseated position and a second position where the check valve member is able to move to the seated position.
