High-pressure fuel supply pump
A fuel pump includes an electromagnetically driven intake valve mechanism, a pump housing, a discharge valve, an opening, a seal member, and a first relief passage. The relief valve mechanism has a relief valve, a relief valve seat contacting the relief valve when the relief valve is closed and a relief spring biasing the relief valve against the relief valve seat. A second relief passage, communicating the first relief passage and a hole formed in the relief seat, is formed between the seal member and the relief valve seat. The relief valve seat, the relief valve, and the relief spring are arranged in this order beginning from the open end side.
Fuel pump and inlet valve assembly thereof
A fuel pump includes a fuel pump housing with a pumping chamber; a pumping plunger which reciprocates within a plunger bore; and an inlet valve assembly. The inlet valve assembly includes a check valve member which is moveable between an unseated position which provides fluid communication between the pumping chamber and a fuel supply passage and a seated position which prevents fluid communication between the pumping chamber and the fuel supply passage; and a solenoid assembly which includes a wire winding; a pole piece; an armature which is moveable between a first position when the wire winding is not energized and a second position when the wire winding is energized; a return spring which biases the armature away from the pole piece; and a control rod which is moveable along the inlet valve axis independently of the armature.
Inlet Control Valve for High Pressure Fuel Pump
The disclosed inlet check valve is used in a high pressure fuel pump and is comprised of a valve member integrally connected to a valve stem which is coupled to an inlet valve armature. The valve member has a stroke along an axis between an open position and a closed position. An inlet valve solenoid generates a magnetic field in an inlet valve pole to attract the inlet valve armature and move the valve member from the open position to the closed position. In the open position, the valve member contacts an inlet valve stop and a gap greater than the stroke of the valve member is defined along the axis between the inlet valve armature and the inlet valve pole. In the closed position, an inlet valve seat mates with the valve member and an armature gap remains between the inlet valve armature and the inlet valve pole.
Integrated Outlet Check Valve and Pressure Relief Valve
The disclosed integrated outlet check valve and pressure relief valve are used in a high pressure fuel pump including a pumping chamber and an outlet fitting defining an outlet passage to a common rail. The pressure relief valve comprises a movable pressure relief valve shuttle including a pressure relief valve surface configured to mate with a pressure relief valve seat in a closed position. The pressure relief valve shuttle moves from the closed position to an open position when pressure in the common rail exerts a force greater than the bias of a pressure relief valve spring. The pressure relief valve shuttle also includes an outlet check valve seat configured to mate with an outlet check valve ball in a closed position. The outlet valve ball moves from the closed position to an open position when pressure in the outlet passage is less than pressure in the pumping chamber.
Electromagnetic actuator of a valve device
An electromagnetic actuator of a valve device, in particular in a common rail system of a motor vehicle, comprising an armature for actuating a valve element located in a duct, said armature being arranged in a housing and being movable axially along a longitudinal axis of the actuator when an excitation coil is energized, further comprising a pole core, characterized in that the electromagnetic actuator is designed as an electromagnetic adhesive system that comprises a plate-type armature which entirely covers planar end faces of the pole core that extend orthogonally to the longitudinal axis.
Partial travel solenoid valve actuation arrangement
A valve assembly for a fuel pump is provided. The valve assembly may include an inlet valve limited to a first range of travel extending between a fully closed position and a fully opened position of the inlet valve, a valve pin coupled to the inlet valve, an armature pin selectively engaging the valve pin, and an armature coupled to the armature pin and limited to a second range of travel extending between an engaged position and a disengaged position that is less than the first range of travel.
High-pressure pump control unit
When a condition for reducing a noise caused in the high-pressure pump is satisfied, a reduction control unit implements a noise reduction control to supply a smaller power to reduce a moving speed of a movable portion in a close acting direction to put a valve body into a closed state for a predetermined time after an energization start timing of a solenoid in a plunger rising period. A closing control unit causes a closing current, which is a constant current for surely putting the valve body into the closed state, to flow the closing current in the solenoid when the noise reduction control is completed in the plunger rising period. The predetermined time is shorter than an energization period in which a current flows in the solenoid.
Fuel pump control device
The control device controls a fuel pump which repeatedly executes a discharge operation of pressurizing and discharging fuel in a pressurizing chamber with the pressurizing member. Furthermore, the control device includes: a pressurizing chamber temperature obtaining unit which obtains a pressurizing chamber temperature which is a temperature of the fuel in the pressurizing chamber; and a discharge amount control unit which increases a fuel discharge amount by one discharge operation of the fuel pump when the pressurizing chamber temperature obtained by the pressurizing chamber temperature obtaining unit is higher than a threshold value.
HIGH-PRESSURE PUMP
A high-pressure pump has a metering valve and a valve stopper. The stopper has a regulation portion which an end surface of the valve is brought into contact with. An outer diameter of the regulation portion is equal to an outer diameter of the outer peripheral surface of the valve. A cylindrical sleeve is disposed around the regulation portion. When the end surface of the valve is in contact with the regulation portion, the sleeve covers a tapered surface of the valve.
