The first fuel injector includes a first nozzle, at least one first needle, and at least one first actuator configured to move the at least one first needle. The at least one first actuator moves the at least one first needle to a first fuel delivery configuration that corresponds to a first fuel mixture composition, and a second fuel delivery configuration that corresponds to a second fuel mixture composition.
VARIABLE ORIFICE FUEL INJECTION NOZZLE
The present device involves a fuel injector nozzle and control system for delivering a fine atomized fuel that is evenly mixed throughout the compressed air charge across a wide range of throttle positions. The system includes a pintle rod that is incrementally moveable to release a high pressure atomized stream of fuel through one or more apertures to vary the size of the opening through which the fuel is directed into the compressed air charge. The atomized fuel is delivered in a manner that allows the fine particles of fuel to be evenly distributed throughout the compressed air charge for more complete and consistent combustion.
INJECTOR NOZZLE SPRAY HOLE WITH AN AERATED COUNTERBORE
Apparatuses, methods, and systems for fuel injection are disclosed. The apparatus includes an inner sac with at least one spray hole disposed on an inner surface of the apparatus, the at least one spray hole leading to a fuel passage extending therefrom, at least one counterbore extending partially between an outer surface of the apparatus and the sac along the fuel passage, and at least one air entrainment hole extending from the outer surface of the apparatus toward the at least one counterbore, the at least one air entrainment hole fluidly coupled with the at least one counterbore and configured to provide air to the fuel passage.
NOZZLE FOR A FUEL INJECTOR
A nozzle for a fuel injector the nozzle having a pivotably symmetrical nozzle member with a hollow space for introducing a nozzle needle, a nozzle tip at a longitudinal end of the nozzle member, at least one opening channel extending in a straight line for the discharge of fuel, and a nozzle needle arranged in the hollow space for selectively blocking an fuel inflow to the at least one opening channel. The nozzle is characterized in that the at least one opening channel has a center axis that is skewed with respect to the longitudinal axis of the nozzle member.
Method and systems for a multi-needle fuel injector
Various methods and systems are provided for a fuel injector. In one example, a fuel injector includes a nozzle tip including a plurality of injection holes, a first needle biased against the nozzle tip via a first biasing member positioned within a first control volume, and a second needle surrounding a portion of the first needle and biased against the first needle and the nozzle tip via a second biasing member positioned within a second control volume. A needle actuator may be energized for different durations of time in order to move one or more of the first needle and the second needle relative to the nozzle tip.
Systems and methods for fuel injector control
A fuel injector assembly in one embodiment includes a nozzle, at least one needle, and at least one actuator. The nozzle includes at least one cavity in fluid communication with nozzle openings. The at least one needle is movably disposed within the at least one cavity, and prevents flow through the nozzle openings in a closed position. The at least one actuator is configured to move the at least one needle within the cavity. The at least one actuator is configured to move the at least one needle to at least a first fuel delivery configuration and a second fuel delivery configuration. A first amount of fuel is delivered through the nozzle openings with the at least one needle in the first fuel delivery configuration, and a second amount of fuel is delivered through the nozzle openings with the at least one needle in the second fuel delivery configuration.
Internal Combustion Engine Control Device, and Fuel Injection Valve
Emission of unburned hydrocarbons and soot is reduced while ensuring startability (ignitability) in a cold start mode of an internal combustion engine. Thus, fuel is injected with a first injection rate as an injection rate of a fuel injection valve 100 in a warm state in which a temperature of an engine 30 is equal to or higher than a set temperature, and the fuel is injected with a second injection rate lower than the first injection rate as the injection rate of the fuel injection valve 100 in a cold state in which the temperature of the engine 30 is lower than the set temperature at the same fuel pressure as that in the warm state.
Fuel injection nozzle
The invention relates to a fuel injection nozzle for use in an internal combustion engine, having a nozzle body (1), in which is formed a pressure chamber (2) fillable with fuel under high pressure and in which a longitudinally displaceable nozzle needle (4) is arranged, wherein the nozzle needle (4) has a sealing face (5) with which it interacts with a conical body seat (7) formed in the nozzle body (1) and thereby opens and closes the connection from the pressure chamber (2) to a blind hole (10). The blind hole (10) forms a cylindrical section (12) directly adjoining the body seat (7) so that an inlet edge (11) is formed at the transition between the body seat (7) and the blind hole (10). In the nozzle body (1) is formed at least one injection opening (14) which opens into the blind hole (10). The cylindrical section of the blind hole (10) has a reduced diameter so that a shoulder (16) is formed in the blind hole (10), wherein the at least one injection opening (14) opens into the blind hole (10) between the shoulder (16) and the inlet edge (11).
Engine mixing structures
A fuel and gas mixing structure for an engine is provided. This mixing structure includes a body configured to be positioned between a fuel injector and a cylinder of an engine. The body defines an interior volume that is configured to receive gas from outside the body and to receive one or more streams of fuel from the fuel injector in the interior volume. The body also defines one or more mixture conduits configured to conduct plumes of the fuel and gas, while mixing, from the interior volume to one or more exit ports and therethrough to the cylinder.
