Fuel Injection Throttle Body
A throttle body fuel injection system including a throttle body with at least one air intake, a fuel injector coupled to the throttle body at a fuel port and an annular ring coupled to the cylindrical inner wall of the air intake. The annular ring includes a primary fuel discharge orifice adjacent to the fuel port and a plurality of secondary fuel discharge orifices arranged radially around the annular ring for spraying atomized fuel into the air intake.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR A FUEL INJECTOR
Methods and systems are provided for an injector. In one example, the injector comprises at least two passages, wherein outlets of each of the passages are differently shaped than corresponding inlets of the passages.
Fuel injectors with improved coefficient of fuel discharge
Nozzles and method of making the same are disclosed. The disclosed nozzles have at least one nozzle through-hole therein, wherein the at least one nozzle through-hole exhibits a coefficient of discharge, C.sub.D, of greater than about 0.50. Fuel injectors containing the nozzle are also disclosed. Methods of making and using nozzles and fuel injectors are further disclosed.
LIQUID FUEL INJECTOR HAVING DUAL NOZZLE OUTLET SETS, FUEL SYSTEM, AND METHOD
A liquid fuel injector for a fuel system in an internal combustion engine includes two injection control valves for controlling two outlet checks. A common nozzle supply cavity is fluidly connected to an inlet passage and supplies each of the two sets of nozzle outlets opened and closed by the outlet checks. A first nozzle outlet set forms a narrower spray angle and has a first combination of outlet number and outlet size, and a second nozzle outlet set forms a wider spray angle and has a second combination of outlet number and outlet size. The first nozzle outlet set has a greater steady flow than the second nozzle outlet set.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR A FUEL INJECTOR
Methods and systems are provided for a fuel injector. In one example, a system may include an injection nozzle having a venturi shape with an upstream twisted fin arranged in a venturi inlet. The system may further include a downstream twisted fin arranged in a venturi outlet.
FUEL INJECTION DEVICE
Movement of a valve body in an unspecified direction due to a minute clearance existing between a valve body and a guide changes the flow of fuel flowing into injection holes every injection, thereby leading to variation in respective beams of spray from the injection holes and the flow rate of injection between the injection holes. Provided are a valve body that sits on or separates from a seat; a plurality of guides that slidably guide the valve body; and a plurality of flow channel portions each formed between each guide adjacent circumferentially. Then, among the plurality of flow channel portions, the cross-sectional area of the first flow channel portion on a horizontal plane orthogonal to the central axis of the valve body is smaller than each of the cross-sectional areas of the remaining flow channel portions on the horizontal plane.
Fuel injector and nozzle assembly having dual concentric check assembly and ducted spray orifices
A fuel injector includes a nozzle assembly having a nozzle case, and a concentric check assembly within the nozzle case. Transfer passages are formed in an outer check of the check assembly, and spray orifices are formed in the nozzle case. A fuel volume is formed between the outer check and an inner check, and the inner check is movable to fluidly connect the transfer passages to the fuel volume. The outer check is rotatable between a first angular orientation and a second angular orientation to fluidly connect separate sets of the transfer passages to separate sets of the spray orifices. Spray ducts are in spray path alignment with at least one of the sets of spray orifices.
INJECTION NOZZLE FOR A DUAL-FUEL ENGINE, DUAL-FUEL ENGINE AND METHOD FOR OPERATING THE SAME
An injection nozzle that for a first fuel in a first mode and in a second mode ignition fluid for a second fuel is introduced. The injection nozzle includes an injection nozzle body with first and second injection orifices and a displaceable injection nozzle needle in the injection nozzle body. The first injection orifices have smaller injection orifice cross-sections than the second injection orifices and are arranged at a defined distance. In a first displacement direction for closing the orifices the first injection orifices are located in front of the second injection orifices and seen in a second displacement direction of the injection nozzle needle for the opening or unblocking of the orifices, the first injection orifices are located behind the second injection orifices.
Injector nozzle spray hole with an aerated counterbore
Apparatuses, methods, and systems for fuel injection are disclosed. The apparatus includes an inner sac with at least one spray hole disposed on an inner surface of the apparatus, the at least one spray hole leading to a fuel passage extending therefrom, at least one counterbore extending partially between an outer surface of the apparatus and the sac along the fuel passage, and at least one air entrainment hole extending from the outer surface of the apparatus toward the at least one counterbore, the at least one air entrainment hole fluidly coupled with the at least one counterbore and configured to provide air to the fuel passage.
