A fuel injector and method are disclosed wherein an injector body defines a cavity and passages from an inlet at the cavity through an outside surface of the injector body. Each passage may have a first inner contour at a first angle and a second inner contour at a second angle. An injector pin with a fuel pass-though volume may be movable within the cavity to selectively overlap an outlet of the pass-through volume with an inlet of the passages to selectively direct fuel in varying quantities along the first second inner contours.

Fuel injector tip

A fuel injector tip for a fuel injector. The fuel injector tip includes an inner tip surface and an outer tip surface that is opposite to the inner tip surface. At least one orifice extends through the fuel injector tip from the inner tip surface to the outer tip surface, and is configured to atomize fuel flowing therethrough to generate a fuel mist. The fuel injector tip is three-dimensionally printed.

An object of the present invention is to provide a fuel injection valve capable of suppressing fuel adhesion to a nozzle surface. Therefore, an injection hole 107 has a curved surface portion 107E formed between a peripheral edge 107I of an inlet opening 107G and an inner peripheral surface 107F. The curved surface portion 107E has a center-side curved surface portion 107AE and an outer-peripheral-side curved surface portion 107BE. The center-side curved surface portion 107AE is formed to have a width W107AE that is larger than the width W107BE of the outer-peripheral-side curved surface portion 107BE.

Fuel injection valve

When injection-hole inlets and injection-hole outlets are projected vertically onto an X-Y plane (N) perpendicular to a valve-seat axial center, an injection-hole arrangement angle (), which is formed by a straight line (a) passing through a center of the injection-hole inlet of a reference injection hole and the valve-seat axial center and a straight line (b) passing through a center of the injection-hole inlet of the injection hole neighboring the reference injection hole and the valve-seat axial center on the plane (N), is set so as to become smaller as being closer to a Y-axis. A fuel turn angle () on a wide-angle side, which is formed by the straight line (a) and a straight line (c) passing through a center of the injection-hole inlet and a center of the injection-hole outlet on the plane (N), has a relationship: 90<<180.
