Method and controller for controlling a switch valve
Various embodiments include a method for controlling a pressure dissipation valve comprising a closure element, a spring applying a spring force urging the closure element toward the closed position, and an electromagnetic actuator responding to an applied voltage to urge the closure element to an open position. The method may include: applying a constant voltage until the closure element begins motion counter to the spring force; immediately ending the voltage upon the beginning of motion; thereafter, applying a pulsed voltage to the actuator to induce a substantially constant holding-open current intensity; maintaining the pulsed voltage for a predetermined duration to hold the closure element open; and interrupting the application of voltage after the predetermined duration, wherein the closure element moves into the closed position as a result of the spring force.
FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR
A fuel pressure regulator includes a fuel inlet; a fuel outlet; a seating surface; and a valve member assembly. The valve member assembly includes a poppet and also includes a sealing member which is made of an elastomer material and which is annular in shape and including a sealing member surface. The sealing member is supported by the poppet. The valve member assembly is moveable between 1) a closed position in which the sealing member surface engages the seating surface, thereby preventing fuel flow from the fuel inlet to the fuel outlet and 2) an open position in which the sealing member surface is spaced apart from the seating surface, thereby allowing fuel flow from the fuel inlet to the fuel outlet.

In one example, a valve includes a first chamber in fluid communication with a first fuel line, a second chamber in fluid communication with a second fuel line and in fluid communication with a fuel storage tank, a piston separating the first chamber from the second chamber, and a needle coupled to the piston and controlling a flow passage between the second fuel line and the second chamber, where the piston and needle are sized such that a force applied on the piston by the first chamber parallel to an axis of movement of the piston maintains the needle in a closed position when the first fuel line flows fuel at a first pressure and the second fuel line flows fuel at a second pressure, the second pressure greater than the first pressure.
Pressure accumulator device for a motor vehicle fuel injection system, and method for operating a pressure accumulator device of said type
An electrically driven solenoid coupled to a spring-operated valve, regulates pressure in an accumulator by opening when a predefined threshold pressure in a pressure accumulator is exceeded. The solenoid provides an assistive force to a spring-closed valve, reducing the amount of pressure required to open the valve responsive to the amount of current provided to the solenoid. The threshold pressure at which the valve opens is thus determined by the amount of current provided to the solenoid. Increasing the current decreases the threshold pressure; decreasing the current increases the threshold pressure.

Injection valve for an accumulator injection system
The present disclosure relates to the field of electromechanics. The teachings may be applied to high-pressure valves, including methods for operating a valve and with devices which are used for activating the valves. Some embodiments include methods for operating a pressure reduction valve for an accumulator injection system, wherein the valve is driven, against a return spring, with an energizable coil and armature, between a closed position and an open position. The method may include: supplying the coil with a defined electrical signal to move the armature, sensing the current intensity profile over time, and determining a movement profile for the defined current signal, including an opening or closing time, based at least in part on the current intensity profile over time.

The invention relates to a pressure regulator for a high-pressure ramp of a system for injecting fuel into an internal combustion engine, comprising a solenoid valve element (10) which receives an electromagnet (40). The electromagnet controls a needle (20) that closes a valve seat (30) which is connected to a high-pressure inlet and opens into a discharge chamber (13), said discharge chamber communicating with a liquid recirculation system (5) by means of outlet openings (14). The rear face (12) of the solenoid valve element (10) receives a coil (40) which controls the opening process of an armature (41) that is rigidly connected to the needle (20) and is subject to a closing return spring (25).
