CONTROLLER AND CONTROL METHOD FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
To provide a controller and a control method for internal combustion engine which can suppress the increase in the calculation processing load for determining occurrence of the mechanical noise and occurrence of the knocking with good accuracy even when the mechanical noise occurs. When the maximum value of the strength of the component of the second frequency band in the comparison period exceeds the maximum value of the strength of the component of the first frequency band, a controller for internal combustion engine performs a second side stop determination processing that determine whether the knocking occurred, based on the strength of the component of the first frequency band, without using the strength of the component of the second frequency band.

Internal Combustion Engine Control Device
Provided is an internal combustion engine control device capable of reducing a control error of the ignition timing as compared with the conventional technique. The internal combustion engine control device of the present disclosure includes a neural network model that receives three or more variables including at least a rotation speed, a load, and another specific variable of an internal combustion engine as inputs and outputs a control amount of the internal combustion engine. The neural network model includes a first neural network model having a reference value of the specific variable as an input and a second neural network model having a current value of the specific variable as an input. The internal combustion engine control device of the present disclosure corrects a reference value of the control amount calculated based on the rotation speed and the load using a difference or a ratio between the output of the first neural network model and the output of the second neural network model as a correction amount.

KNOCKING CONTROL METHOD
A knocking control method in a power generation system (1) which includes a gas engine (20) including a plurality of air cylinders (21) and a knocking detection unit (51) configured to detect knocking in each of the air cylinders (21). The knocking control method includes a first control step of delaying an ignition timing for at least one of the air cylinders (21) when the knocking detection unit (51) has detected knocking; a second control step of reducing an amount of gas supplied to at least one of the air cylinders (21) when the knocking has not been eliminated by the first control step; and a third control step of shutting off supply of a gas to any of the air cylinders (21) in which the knocking has occurred.
Controller of internal combustion engine with supercharger
A controller of an engine with a supercharger includes, for each of cylinders, fuel supply system and an ignition plug. The controller includes an electronic control unit that is configured to: (i) set a basic ignition timing depending on an operation state of the engine, (ii) detect, for each cycle, an abnormal combustion generation cylinder in which an abnormal combustion is generated in a supercharged region, (iii) execute a fuel cut to stop a fuel supply by the fuel supply system for the abnormal combustion generation cylinder, (iv) change an ignition timing of the abnormal combustion generation cylinder to expand a crank angle width between a compression top dead center and the basic ignition timing for several cycles after start of the fuel cut, and (v) execute an ignition cut that prohibits a spark from being generated by the ignition plug, further after elapse of the several cycles is executed.
Process and an apparatus to adjust the ignition timing of an internal combustion engine
A process to adjust the ignition timing of an air-fuel mixture in a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine, the process comprises determining a first quantity indicative of a pressure of the mixture for a cycle of the engine, determining a second quantity indicative of a speed of the engine, determining a third quantity indicative of a first temperature of a conditioning fluid, providing a heat exchange mathematical model for the combustion chamber, which maps the three quantities from the first to the third one onto a fourth quantity indicative of a second temperature of a wall portion around the combustion chamber, estimating the fourth quantity by means of the three determined quantities and by means of the mathematical model, and adjusting the ignition timing as a function of the fourth estimated quantity.
SYSTEM FOR METHOD FOR CONTROLLING ENGINE KNOCK OF A VARIABLE DISPLACEMENT ENGINE
Systems and methods for detecting and controlling knock in an engine are presented. In one example, engine knock sensors are selected based on whether or not certain cylinders are activated and combusting air and fuel or deactivated and not combusting air and fuel. Output of selected knock sensors is the basis for adjusting engine spark timing.

Gasoline particulate reduction using optimized port and direct injection
Additional approaches for the reduction of particulate emissions in gasoline engines using optimized port+direct injection are described. These embodiments include control of the amount of directly injected fuel so as to avoid a threshold increase in particulates due to piston wetting and reduction of cold start emissions by use of air preheating using variable valve timing.
