20230160362 · 2023-05-25 ·

The present invention is a wave energy converter capable of extracting useful energy from ocean waves by utilizing finite depth of ocean waves, kinetic energy of flowing water and drag force of water that opposes the relative motion of the submerged body through the water, comprising two bodies attached to each other, wherein the buoyant body is moored to the seabed, and the fully submerged body is suspended from the buoyant body by vertical suspender cables, chains, ropes, other flexible lines, or a rigid frame, and placed at a depth of around one-half wavelength of the prevailing waves at the installation site, where the water is not affected by the surface wave action, therefore is still or relatively still.

Active resonance C-type buoyant flap wave energy converter

An active resonance C-type buoyant flap wave energy converter includes a rigid frame, a flap, a mass center adjustment assembly and a power generation assembly. The rigid frame is connected to a marine facility, and includes a main body and a support shaft provided at a bottom thereof. The flap is swingingly arranged on the support shaft. The flap is located under water surface, and swings back and forth around the support shaft under an action of a wave. The mass center adjustment assembly is configured to adjust a mass center of the flap to make a natural period of the flap same as a wave period, so as to achieve a resonance between the flap and the wave. The power generation assembly is arranged on the support shaft and is located in the flap.

A wave energy absorption and conversion device and a power generation system includes a floating body, a guiding shaft, a damping plate and a counteracting mechanism placed in a movement range of the damping plate. The guiding shaft is connected to the bottom of the floating body and passes through the center of the damping plate. The damping plate may slide on the guiding shaft. A counterforce generated by the counteracting mechanism is opposite to a natural moving direction of the damping plate, so that the damping plate can be kept in a relatively static state under a synergistic effect of the counteracting mechanism, and thereby, colliding of damping plate with constraint structures above and below can be prevented when floating body is moving up and down following waves. The power generation system includes the wave energy absorption and conversion device and a power generation system.

RENEWABLE ENERGY GENERATION SYSTEM AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR

A renewable energy generation method includes: a first production process in which electric power is produced by converting wave energy into electrical energy using a plurality of power generators having the shape of a roly-poly-like capsule that floats in a sea; a storage process in which the electrical energy produced in the first production process is stored in a first hub connected to the power generators; and a transportation process in which the electrical energy stored in the first hub is transported to a predetermined place by use of a transportation.

WAVE ENERGY CONVERTER CONTROL

A method of controlling energy conversion and/or applied wave loads for a membrane power conversion wave energy converter (WEC) having a longitudinal axis and at least one cell having a membrane. The method includes acquiring data and determining a value relating to a local sea state at the WEC or to a WEC state of the WEC. Depending on the value determined from the acquired data, one or both of the vertical position of the at least one WEC cell relative to a free surface at still water and/or the angle of incidence of the WEC is adjusted.

A buoyant energy generating housing apparatus submersed in fluid currents. The disclosed embodiments comprises rotary turbines that harvest the kinetic energy in the currents, and buoys that house equipment and provide buoyancy to support the system. Movements and rotations are restrained by multiple cables or tendons that are anchored on the seabed, in combination with the internal active ballast system in the buoys. Applications in currents with direction change are possible with the use of two-buoy embodiments, further assisted by the optional use of weathervanes.
