Pump with segmented fluid end housing and in-line valve
20190145403 · 2019-05-16 ·

A plunger pump fluid end assembly design in which the suction valve and seat is aligned with the plunger and the fluid end housing is constructed with multiple modules. Modules are held in a rigid assembly by staybolts that connect to the power end of the plunger pump. Said staybolts pass though bores in the central fluid module and the suction seat module and bound by a conventional threaded nut. Packing box modules are bound to the central fluid module by bolts that also pass through separate bores in the same central module. A suction valve spring retainer/plunger spacer within the plunger bore of the assembly shields the intersection of the plunger bore and the discharge bore from destructive erosion damage.

An electro hydrostatic actuator comprising a hydraulic pump driven by an electric motor to supply hydraulic fluid to a hydraulic actuator, the pump comprising an inlet and an outlet for the hydraulic fluid and an active flow path configured therebetween such that, in an active mode of operation when the pump is driven by the electric motor, hydraulic fluid is actively drawn in through the inlet and exhausted out through the outlet. The pump further comprises a bypass flow path configured to open between the inlet and outlet such that, in a damping mode of operation when the pump is not driven by the electric motor, hydraulic fluid is able to pass through the pump along the bypass flow path between the inlet and outlet. The hydraulic pump is a rotary piston pump comprising a pump barrel driven to rotate by a motor shaft.

Fluid End Assembly

A fluid end having its fluid flow bores sealed without threading a retaining nut into the walls of each bore. The fluid ends may be assembled using a plurality of different kits that each comprise a fluid end body, a component, a retainer element, and a fastening system. The retainer element holds the component within each of the bores formed in the fluid end body and the fastening system secures the retainer element to the body. The fastening system comprises a plurality of externally threaded studs, washers and nuts in some embodiments. In other embodiments, the fastening system comprises a plurality of screws.

Hydraulic arrangement

A hydraulic arrangement (1) is provided comprising a pressure exchanger (2) having an axis (3) of rotation, and a booster pump (4), said pressure exchanger (2) and said booster pump (4) being connected to each other. Such a hydraulic arrangement should have a good efficiency. To this end a single connection flange (5) is provided between said pressure exchanger (2) and the booster pump (4).

PUMP

In an embodiment, a pump includes a pump housing formed as a singular body. The pump housing may include a mounting feature adjacent a first end of the pump housing. The mounting feature may be configured for mounting the pump relative to a prime mover. A drive system cavity may be formed in the first end of the pump housing, and sized to receive at least a portion of an axial drive system. A pump cylinder may extend inwardly into the pump housing from the drive system cavity. A piston guide plate may be configured to be affixed within the drive system cavity. The piston guide plate includes a piston guide associated with the pump cylinder. The piston guide may be configured to at least partially receive a pump piston therethrough for facilitating alignment and axial movement of a pump piston within the pump cylinder.

Electro hydrostatic actuators

An electro hydrostatic actuator (EHA) comprises a hydraulic pump and an electric motor driving the hydraulic pump. The hydraulic pump comprises an inlet and an outlet for hydraulic fluid and an active fluid flow path arranged therebetween such that, in an active mode of operation when the pump is driven by the electric motor, hydraulic fluid is actively drawn in through the inlet and exhausted out through the outlet. The hydraulic pump further comprises a bypass flow path arranged between the pump inlet and outlet, such that, in a damping mode of operation, hydraulic fluid is able to freely flow between the inlet and outlet in either direction.
