20170226551 · 2017-08-10 ·

The present invention relates to the co-production and isolation of mycoprotein and ethanol from carbohydrate feedstock material (e.g cereals). The present invention also provides a fermentation system for the co-production of mycoprotein from a carbohydrate feedstock material.

High efficiency ethanol process and high protein feed co-product

A process for obtaining high ethanol yield from the fermentation of an energy crop and for producing a nutritionally enhanced feed co-product is provided. In particular, the process includes converting non-fermentable polysaccharides in an energy crop into fermentable sugar. The fermentable sugars may be fermented into ethanol thereby enhancing the ethanol yield. In addition, separation of ethanol from the fermentation product yields a whole stillage product having enhanced protein content and reduced fiber content. The process requires little or no modification to the configuration of existing commercial ethanol facilities.

A method for obtaining a food product from a wet mass of waste materials arising from production processes for producing products like beer, whisky, vodka, gin, tequila, liqueurs or citrus-fruit based distillates, cider, sake, soy sauce is provided. An enzyme is added to the waste materials that is suitable for breaking down possible gluten residues in the materials and making the enzyme act for a period between 15 and 30 minutes. The waste materials are boiled for at least 20 minutes. The waste materials are cooled and centrifuged to eliminate most of the water present in the waste materials. The materials are dried at a temperature between 70° C. and 100° C. for a time between 60 and 120 minutes, by a radio frequency dryer so as to obtain, at the end of drying, a product with relative humidity between 14 and 2%. A food product is provided that includes a percentage by weight between 1% and 60% of at least one flour obtainable from waste materials arising from the production processes for producing products like beer, whisky, vodka, gin, tequila, liqueurs or citrus-fruit based distillates, cider, sake, soy sauce, and at least one cereal flour, or vegetable flour, or animal flour, in a percentage by weight between 40% and 99%.

PRODUCING RECOVERABLE OIL FROM FERMENTATION PROCESSES
20170218298 · 2017-08-03 ·

The present technology relates to processes of fermenting a starch-containing material into a fermentation product comprising a fermentation step in the presence of a xylanase in combination with a pectinase on oil partitioning during post-fermentation processing. In particular, the enzyme(s) were added during simultaneous saccharification and fermentation. The finished beer was subjected to beer well incubation, distillation, and then decanting to separate thin stillage from the solids.

Dissolvable micro-ingredient containers and methods for preparing animal feeds using such containers

The present invention relates to dissolvable containers for animal feed micro-ingredients, and methods for using such dissolvable containers to prepare an animal feed mixture. Ingredients required in very small amounts with respect to the rest of the components in an animal feed, i.e., micro-ingredients, can be pre-measured and sealed within the dissolvable containers, which can be made from a water-soluble polymer film, then added to the other feed components when the complete animal feed is being prepared.

PROTEIN PRODUCT OBTAINED FROM BREWER'S GRAINS AND ITS PRODUCTION METHOD
20220039427 · 2022-02-10 ·

The present technology generally relates to food-processing industry, namely to a method of processing brewer's grains. The invention enables to increase the level of extracted food fractions of brewer's grains up to 90-95% and to increase protein content in barley protein concentrate up to 50-65% wt (dry solid). The method implies that brewer's grains are subject to loosening by means of a vibrating screen, grinding in a colloid mill with addition of water or centrate in the ratio from 0.5:1 to 1:1 to brewer's grains in order to produce a pasty homogeneous mass from brewer's grains; and then this mass is subject to processing by means of a screw extractor for its further grinding and division into 2 factions: suspension with the humidity level of 90-95%, and ground husk of brewer's grains with the humidity level of 60-75% suitable for its further industrial use. Then the suspension is supplied to mechanical filtration in order to remove the ground husk, pumped into the container and dried in order to obtain the humidity level of max. 7%.
