BOVINE SUPPLEMENT FOR NEONATAL CALVES
The present invention relates generally to a feed supplement preparation for administration to ruminant animals and, more particularly, to a formulation for an oral bovine supplement for neonatal calves that delivers naturally occurring caffeine, in a stable liquid form of elevated viscosity and optionally antioxidants and other electrolytes. A 10-40 ml liquid dose of the supplement containing green tea extract delivers a concentrated amount of caffeine of about 100-400 mg to the neonatal calf.
Compounds and methods for treating nematode infections
The present application relates to the treatment of nematode infections. For example, the application relates to the use of compounds of Formula (I) and/or (II) as defined herein for treatment of a nematode infection or a disease, disorder or condition arising from a nematode infection: ##STR00001##
COMPOSITION FOR PREVENTING OR TREATING METABOLIC LIVER DISEASE
The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, comprising trametinib. The composition of the present invention, which comprises trametinib, reduces steatosis, inflammation, or ballooning in liver tissue where non-alcoholic fatty liver has been induced; reduces the level of fibrosis of inflammation induced by non-alcoholic fatty liver; and reduces the weight of a liver that has increased due to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Accordingly, the composition of the present invention can be provided for use in preventing or treating metabolic liver disease, including non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
METHODS TO CONTROL INFECTION USING NEW GENERATION SMALL MOLECULE GROWTH INHIBITORS
Disclosed herein are methods of treating a subject with a bacterial infection preventing a bacterial infection, comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of at least one compound, of a derivative thereof, having the formula of SM1, SM3, SM4 or SM5. Also described are methods of inhibiting bacterial growth in a plant comprising contacting the plant with an effective amount of at least one compound, or a derivative thereof, testing the formula of SM1, SM3, SM4, or SM5. The methods are effective against the area of bacterial pathogens in various animals and plants.

Nicotinamide riboside treatments of domesticated meat animals
Described herein are methods of increasing meat quantity and/or improving meat quality of domesticated meat animals using treatments of nicotinamide riboside. The nicotinamide riboside may be in the form of a chloride salt mixed or dissolved in a biologically-acceptable carrier. The treatments may be provided as an in ovo injection or orally administered to the live domesticated meat animal. The methods described herein advantageously increase the size and weight of the domesticated meat animals, reduce the incidences of transportation fatigue, and decrease meat discoloration over time.
Composition And Method for Modulating Hydrogen Ion Physiology Related to Weight Loss and Metabolism
A nutritional supplement composition that enhances the incorporation of calcium and other bone building elements in bone and that prevents bone breakdown, specifically due to the chronic metabolic acidosis that the typical Western diet generates each day. The transcription factor NFKB (Nuclear Factor Kappa B), which underlies some of this physiology, has also been shown to adversely affect fat metabolism. The enzymatic protein complex, AMP Kinase (Adenosine Monophosphate Kinase), a key regulator of energy metabolism, has been shown to reverse the effects of excessive NFKB activity on bone and fat metabolism. The novel nutrients modulate nutrient partitioning and fat metabolism in a human or animal so as to increase oxidation of fat, decrease storage of fat and promote increased storage of glycogen. They are composed of one or more of nutrients selected from the group consisting of Hesperidin, Berberine, Epigallocatechin 3-Gallate (EGCG), Resveratrol, Curcumin, Ginsenosides, Gingerols, Hispidulin, Honokiol, Magnolol and Quercetin. A method for modulating nutrient partitioning in a human involves orally or parenterally administering the aforementioned composition to the human or animal, preferably on a daily basis, for a therapeutically effective period of time. Preferably, the method further involves having the recipient follow a specific dietary regimen wherein the glycemic index is less than 60 and the daily calorie consumption from carbohydrates is less than about 50% and the daily calorie consumption from protein is at least about 20%. Optionally, the method further involves an exercise program, a stress reduction program and/or a blood donation program.
YEAST CELL WALL-DERIVED DECOMPOSITION-CONTAINING COMPOSITION, PRODUCTION METHOD THEREFOR, AND USAGE THEREFOR
Provided is a method for producing a yeast cell wall-derived decomposition product-containing composition, the method including enzymatically treating a cell wall of yeast with exoglucanase.
