A hydraulic system includes a circulation pump assembly (2) provided with a speed controller (4, 26), a hydraulic circuit (A, B) connected to the circulation pump assembly (2) as well as a mechanical switch device (86, 88; 120, 122; 120, 122) which is subjected to pressure from a fluid in the hydraulic circuit (A, B) and which can be moved into at least two different switch positions. The mechanical switch device (28; 86, 28; 120, 122) can be moved by the circulation pump assembly (2) by way of a hydraulic coupling via the fluid. The speed controller is configured to initiate a movement of the switch device (86, 88; 120, 122; 120, 122) by way of at least one hydraulic force acting thereon and causing a movement of the switch device (86, 88; 120, 122; 120, 122), produced via the hydraulic circuit, via a speed adaptation of the circulation pump assembly.

Isolated Chamber For Mechanical Face Seal Leakage In Submersible Well Pump Assembly

A submersible pump assembly includes a seal section connected to a motor, the seal section having a housing with an outboard bearing at a housing pump end in radial supporting engagement with a drive shaft. An inboard bearing is also in the housing pump end, axially spaced from the outboard bearing, and in radial supporting engagement with the shaft. A barrier fluid chamber in the housing pump end contains a barrier fluid. A primary shaft seal is located within the barrier fluid chamber and seals the barrier fluid in the barrier fluid chamber from the motor lubricant. A secondary shaft seal is mounted in the barrier fluid chamber between the primary shaft seal and the outboard bearing. The secondary shaft seal seals the barrier fluid in the barrier fluid chamber from well fluid exterior of the housing pump end.

Threaded connection for tandem motors of electrical submersible pump

An electrical submersible pump assembly has modules including a pump, at least one motor, and a pressure equalizer coupled to the motor. First and second ones of the modules have a threaded connection including a first adapter having threads. A second adapter mounted to the second module has a tubular body, a neck of smaller diameter than the body, an external shoulder at a base of the neck, a rim on the neck, and an external groove between the external shoulder and the rim. A collar is rotatably carried and axially movable on the neck, the collar being in threaded engagement with the threads of the first adapter, the collar having an internal groove. A split shoulder ring carried partly in the external groove and partly in the internal groove retains the collar on the neck and is biased into one of the grooves.

Supercharging device for a combustion engine

A supercharging device for an internal combustion engine, in particular for a vehicle, with a compressor having a compressor housing and having a compressor space in which a compressor wheel is arranged, an electric motor having a rotor and a stator, a motor housing having a motor space for accommodating the rotor and the stator, and a fluid-conducting connection from the compressor space into the motor space in order to permit pressure equalization between the compressor space and the motor space.

Inverted closed bellows with lubricated guide ring support

A pumping system deployed in a wellbore has a motor, a pump driven by the motor, and a volumetric compensator connected to the motor to accommodate the expansion and contraction of fluids contained within the motor. The volumetric compensator has a head connected to the motor, a base that includes a fluid exchange port that extends to the wellbore, and a housing extending between the head and the base. The volumetric compensator further includes an inverted bellows assembly contained within the housing. The inverted bellows assembly includes a metal bellows that has an interior, an exterior, a proximal end and a distal end. The interior of the metal bellows is in fluid communication with the wellbore. The inverted bellows assembly may also include one or more guide rings connected to the exterior of the metal bellows. The guide rings are lubricated by the clean motor fluid surrounding the exterior of the metal bellows.

A pump assembly is provided. The pump assembly includes a stator assembly and a piston assembly. The stator assembly includes a rotary winding and a linear winding. The piston assembly is positioned within the stator assembly. The piston assembly translates along a lengthwise axis of the stator assembly and rotates about the lengthwise axis of the stator assembly to create a pumping action.

Below motor equalizer of electrical submersible pump and method for filling

An electrical submersible pump assembly has a pressure equalizer coupled to a lower end of a motor. The equalizer has a motor lubricant passage through which lubricant in the motor communicates with motor lubricant in the equalizing element. A valve element in the motor lubricant passage has a closed upper position and an open lower position. The valve element has a drive member on an upper end that mates with a shaft drive member on a lower end of the motor shaft while the valve element is in the upper position and disengages from the shaft drive member while the valve element is in the lower position. A locking feature between the valve element and the motor lubricant passage retains the valve element in the upper position and is releasable in response to rotation of the motor shaft in a selected direction.

Method of supplying fluid to a submersible pump

A fluid delivery system for an inverted electric submersible pump (ESP), where the ESP has a motor section positioned above a pump section in a production path of a hydrocarbon well. The system has a supply of fluid connected to the motor section of the ESP by a supply line and a positive displacement pump that pumps fluid through the supply line to the ESP. A valve is connected between the positive displacement pump and the ESP. The valve is in an open state when the positive displacement pump is pumping fluid. A bypass line is connected in parallel to the positive displacement pump and connected between the normally closed valve and the supply of fluid, the bypass line having a check valve that permits the flow of fluid from the supply of fluid to the ESP.
