System and method for determining a use condition for an appliance
Systems and methods are provided for determining a use condition of an appliance, such as a sump pump, and outputting an indication of the current use condition of the appliance. A system implementing the method will first generate an actual first signature of a first characteristic associated with the appliance. The system will then generate an actual second signature of a second characteristic associated with the appliance. Each of the actual first and second signatures are then compared to corresponding expected signatures. The system then selects a current use condition from a plurality of use conditions based on the relationship between the actual signatures and the expected signatures.
DRAINAGE PUMP ASSEMBLY AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A DRAINAGE PUMP
A method for controlling a drainage pump configured to operate at a variable operational speed, and a drainage pump assembly so controlled. The drainage pump has a drive unit including an electrical motor and a drive shaft, and a hydraulic unit with an impeller operatively connected to the electrical motor via the drive shaft. The method includes continuously operating the drainage pump at a positive operational speed with default operation at a predetermined idle operational speed, and intermittently detecting whether the drainage pump is snoring or not snoring. The operational speed is decreased by one step when snoring is detected, and increased by one step when snoring is not detected.
Method of determining circulation state of cooling water
A method of determining a state of cooling water is provided. The method includes operating, by a controller, a driving motor of a cooling water-circulating pump that is configured to circulate cooling water at a fixed current, a fixed torque, or a fixed power. In addition, the controller is configured to calculate an average rotation speed of the driving motor for a preset first period of time during the operation of the driving motor. Whether the circulation state of the cooling water is normal is determined based on an error between the calculated average rotation speed and a preset reference rotation speed.
Load-sharing in parallel fluid pumps
A method of sharing load between a plurality of parallel fluid pumps in a subsea fluid pumping system having first and second pumping units, each of which includes a respective first and second pump, the method including establishing a pump limit characteristics diagram for the first pumping unit by mapping a minimal allowable torque of the first pumping unit as a function of a differential pressure across the first pump, identifying a permissible operating region of the first pumping unit defined by a set of minimum allowable torque values for the first pumping unit, establishing a pump limit characteristics diagram for the second pumping unit by mapping a minimal allowable torque of the second pumping unit as a function of a differential pressure across the second pump, identifying a permissible operating region of the second pumping unit defined by a set of minimum allowable torque values for the second pumping unit, monitoring the torque of the first pumping unit and the differential pressure across the first pump, acquiring a monitored torque value (T.sub.ma) and a monitored differential pressure value (DP.sub.ma) of the first pumping unit, identifying the minimum allowable torque value (T.sub.0a) of the first pumping unit corresponding to the monitored differential pressure value (DP.sub.ma) of the first pumping unit, monitoring the torque of the second pumping unit and the differential pressure across the second pump, acquiring a monitored torque value (T.sub.mb) and a monitored differential pressure value (DP.sub.mb) of the second pumping unit, identifying the minimum allowable torque value (T.sub.0b) of the second pumping unit corresponding to the monitored differential pressure value (DP.sub.mb) of the second pumping unit, and regulating the rotational speed of the first and second pumps such that T.sub.ma/T.sub.0b equals T.sub.mb/T.sub.0b.
Determining whether process water has been added to a sump of an appliance for washing and rinsing goods during interruption of appliance operation
Provided herein is a method performed by an appliance for washing and rinsing goods of detecting process water added to a sump of the appliance during interruption of operation of the appliance, upon recommence of appliance operation, and an appliance performing the method. The method may include detecting process water added to a sump of the appliance during interruption of operation of the appliance, upon recommence of appliance operation. The method may include increasing operating speed of a circulation pump of the appliance to a target speed, measuring an indication of circulation pump pressure or process water flow rate through the circulation pump, and determining that process water has been added to the sump of the appliance during the interruption in case the measured pressure or flow rate is maintained at a sufficient level after the speed of the circulation pump has reached the target speed.
Current sensing switch for use with pumps
A current sensing switch for use with a pump that is physically separate from the pump and contains a current sensor for measuring the electrical current flowing to the pump as a method of determining whether the pump is operating in low fluid, dry conditions, or with an impeller that has ceased to rotate. When the current drops below or raises above a predetermined value for a predetermined amount of time, the switch electrically disconnects power to the pump and reconnects it periodically to check whether the state of the pump has changed.
Electrical Submersible Pump Motor Adjustment
In some examples, an electric submersible pump includes a pump, an electric motor to drive the pump, and a controller. The controller can monitor at one or more terminals of the electric motor a value relating to total harmonic distortion. The controller can also determine whether to de-rate the electric motor in response to the monitoring at the one or more terminals of the electric motor of the value relating to the total harmonic distortion.
Pump controller system and method
A method and apparatus for a pump control system. One or more embodiments of the invention include a pump controller that can perform a self-calibrating procedure, can provide precise motor speed control, can provide a limp mode before shutting down the motor when system parameters are exceeded and/or fault conditions occur, can detect fault conditions, and can store fault conditions for later retrieval.
Systems and Methods for a Connected Sump Pump
Systems and methods for monitoring operation of a sump pump are provided. A method includes connecting a power adapter to the sump pump and a float-switch. The power adapter includes a printed circuit board (PCB) positioned within a housing, a power supply in electrical communication with components coupled to the PCB, and an integrated chip coupled to the PCB. The integrated chip is configured to establish a wireless connection to a first wireless network, and transmit a message to a remote server over the first wireless network. The method further includes causing an internet enabled device to send one or more instructions that causes the power adapter to connect to the first wireless network, and receiving, using the internet enabled device, a message from the remote server.
