Integrated connector for multi-stage compressor
This disclosure relates to a compressor having at least two compression stages. In particular, an exemplary compressor includes a first radial compression stage arranged along an axis, a second radial compression stage arranged along the axis, and a connector fluidly connecting an outlet of the first radial compression stage to an inlet of the second radial compression stage. The connector has a plurality of sections arranged about the axis. The compressor may be a refrigerant compressor used in a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) chiller system.
ACTIVE UNLOADING DEVICE FOR MIXED FLOW COMPRESSORS
A compressor according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a mixed compression stage having both axial and radial components arranged along a main flow path, and a radial compression stage having an impeller with a plurality of vanes arranged in the main flow path downstream of the mixed compression stage. The impeller is configured to rotate about an axis and has an outlet downstream of the vanes. A movable diffuser is arranged at the outlet, and the movable diffuser is configured to vary an area of the outlet.
COMPRESSOR WITH OPTIMIZED INTERSTAGE FLOW INLET
A compressor is provided. The compressor includes a first stage portion with a first impeller assembly and a first diffuser assembly, a second stage portion with a second impeller assembly and a second diffuser assembly, and an interstage portion situated between the first stage portion and the second stage portion. The interstage portion includes a directing vane assembly, a collector passage surrounding the directing vane assembly, and a circumferential insertion slot fluidly coupling the collector passage to the directing vane assembly.
COMPRESSOR ROTOR STRUCTURE
Compressor rotor structure for turbomachinery, such as a compressor, is provided. Disclosed embodiments can benefit from sealing sleeves that may be arranged to inhibit passage onto respective hirth couplings of process fluid being processed by the compressor. The sealing sleeves may be affixed to adjoining structures (e.g., adjoining impeller bodies) by way of a slip fit connection to one of the adjoining structures and an interference fit connection with respect to the other adjoining structure, which is conducive to a user-friendly assembly of the sealing sleeves with the adjoining structures.
INTERSTAGE CAPACITY CONTROL VALVE WITH SIDE STREAM FLOW DISTRIBUTION AND FLOW REGULATION FOR MULTI-STAGE CENTRIFUGAL COMPRESSORS
Centrifugal compressors can incorporate a side stream flow of intermediate pressure vapor between stages of that compressor. The side stream flow can be controlled by a side stream injection port controlled by a throttle ring disposed between stages of the compressor. The throttle ring can allow or obstruct flow through the side stream injection port. The throttle ring can extend and retract in a direction substantially perpendicular to the direction of flow from the first stage impeller to the second stage impeller. A method of operating a centrifugal compressor can include actuating a throttle ring by rotating a drive ring to adjust a flow of interstage fluid into the second stage impeller.
Impeller assemblies and method of making
A double curvature blade for a portion of system. The system may include a pump, such as a submersible pump. The pump may include a multiple or single stage pump. The pump may be powered by a selected motor.
Compressor with integrated accumulator
The disclosed technology generally relates to a compressor housing, comprising a first portion configured to house a compressor motor of a centrifugal compressor, a second portion configured to house an inlet housing of the centrifugal compressor, where the inlet housing is configured to receive refrigerant into an impeller assembly of the centrifugal compressor, and at least one refrigerant accumulator upstream of the second portion, the at least one refrigerant accumulator configured to accumulate liquid refrigerant.
MULTI-STAGE COMPRESSOR WITH SINGLE ELECTRIC DIRECT DRIVE MOTOR
A compressor system includes an electric motor having a rotatable output shaft extending from either end thereof. The compressor system further includes multiple compression stages fluidly coupled to one another in series and mechanically connected to the output shaft. The first compressor stage includes two split impellers with each impeller discharging approximately one half of the fluid flow at a desired pressure to the second compressor stage.
CENTRIFUGAL COMPRESSOR
A centrifugal compressor includes a motor cooling passage through which cooling fluid for cooling an electric motor flows, an air passage through which cooling air for cooling a first air bearing and a second air bearing is supplied to each of the first air bearing and the second air bearing, and a heat exchanger cooling the cooling air. The motor cooling passage includes a plurality of cooling axial passages having a first cooling axial passage through which the cooling fluid is supplied to the heat exchanger and a second cooling axial passage through which the cooling fluid is discharged from the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger has a first port communicating with the first cooling axial passage, a second port communicating with the second cooling axial passage, and a third port communicating with an air axial passage extending in an axial direction of a rotary shaft.
Interstage capacity control valve with side stream flow distribution and flow regulation for multi-stage centrifugal compressors
Centrifugal compressors can incorporate a side stream flow of intermediate pressure vapor between stages of that compressor. The side stream flow can be controlled by a side stream injection port controlled by a capacity control valve that has a curved surface facing a flow of refrigerant from the first stage to the second stage. The capacity control valve can allow or obstruct flow through the side stream injection port. The capacity control valve can extend and retract in a direction substantially perpendicular to the direction of flow from the first stage impeller to the second stage impeller. The side stream injection port and the capacity control valve can be ring-shaped. The side stream injection port and the capacity control valve can allow at least some of the side stream to be introduced on a side of the capacity control valve opposite the curved surface.
