Compressor or turbine with back-disk seal and vent

A turbine or compressor wheel mounted in a housing. The wheel is carried on two radial bearings both mounted in a wall of the housing. The wall has a venting orifice that is not impeded by moving parts such as bearings. The wall also has a circular seal member extending toward a back-disk of the wheel with only a very small clearance. The seal member is composed of a material significantly softer than the material of the wheel.

Systems and features for improving sand control in pumps are provided. These features can be used in centrifugal pumps employed in a variety of oilfield applications, such as in electric submersible pumping systems positioned downhole in a wellbore to pump oil or other fluids. Such features include shielded anti-swirl ribs positioned in the balance chamber.

Rotary parts for a slurry pump

A rotary part for a pump and related systems and methods are provided. The rotary part can be rotated in a forward direction about a rotation axis X-X and may include shroud(s) and expelling vane(s). The expelling vane(s) may have a leading side facing in the forward direction characterised in that the leading side includes a forwardly inclined section which is inclined forwardly.

Pump and impeller with auxiliary blades on the underside of the impeller and a permanent magnet rotor

To provide a pump device configured such that the impeller can be prevented from being moved toward a case body by which a pump chamber is defined. An impeller is arranged in a pump chamber defined by a case body and an end wall portion of a motor. The impeller includes back blades protruding from a shroud toward the end wall portion of the motor. When the impeller is driven to circulate fluid through the pump chamber, a fluid is drawn out by the back blades from a clearance between the impeller and the end wall portion of the motor. Therefore, the impeller is moved by the negative pressure toward the end wall portion of the motor. The back blades function as a suction power generation mechanism configured to generate suction power sucking the impeller toward the end wall portion.

A turbomachine includes a housing having an inlet and an outlet. A shaft is rotationally disposed in the housing. The shaft is rotatable about a longitudinal axis. An impeller is coupled to the shaft between the inlet and the outlet and rotates with the shaft. The impeller includes a single impeller inlet and an impeller outlet, a first set of vanes disposed on a first side of the impeller, and a second set of vanes disposed on a second side of the impeller. A passage is formed through a thickness of the impeller. The passage facilitates transmission of fluid from the first side of the impeller to the second side of the impeller such that fluid is supplied to the first set of vanes and the second set of vanes via the single impeller inlet. Transmission of fluid through the impeller reduces net axial thrust imparted to at least one of the impeller and the shaft.

Impeller for centrifugal radial pump

An impeller designed for use in radial pumps. The impeller compensates for axial forces during pumping operations. The impeller utilizes vanes having 3D geometry which extend from the impeller intermediate plate eye to the external diameter of the intermediate plate. On the backside of the intermediate plate, the vanes define a plurality of hydraulic passages. The hub plate also includes a series of balancing holes.

An impeller for use in a pump assembly for a fluid circuit of an engine of a vehicle comprises a plurality of projections provided at radially spaced locations relative to a rotational axis of the impeller, the impeller being rotatable relative to a housing of the pump assembly. The projections extend axially from a surface of the impeller and circumferentially about the rotational axis of the impeller. At least one of the projections is configured to be at least partially received in a recess provided in the housing such that a flow path is provided by the projection and the respective recess, wherein the flow path provides a tortuous flow route for fluid between an inlet and outlet of the pump assembly so as to restrict flow of fluid along said flow path and thereby minimise flow of fluid from the outlet back towards the inlet in a direction opposite to the intended direction of flow.

Thrust bearing system and method for operating the same

A fluid machine and method of operating the same comprises a pump portion, turbine portion and a center bearing therebetween. The method includes communicating lubricant to a thrust bearing cavity disposed between a turbine impeller and a thrust wear ring, communicating lubricant from the thrust bearing cavity to a center axial shaft passage of a shaft through an impeller passage of the turbine impeller, communicating lubricant through the axial shaft passage to a bearing clearance between a shaft and a center bearing through a first radial shaft passage and a second radial shaft passage and communicating lubricant through the bearing clearance to a pump impeller chamber and a turbine impeller chamber.

A device is disclosed including a wear ring formed as a hollow cylinder with an inside diameter and an outside diameter. The hollow cylinder may have multiple holes through at least a portion of the wear ring from the inside diameter towards the outside diameter. The multiple holes may be passages between the inside diameter and the outside diameter that allow fluid under pressure to pass between the inside diameter and the outside diameter through the multiple holes.

Oil pump of vehicle having inner ring

The present disclosure provides an oil pump including a housing in which a space is formed, a rotor installed to be rotatable in an eccentric position in the housing and having vanes mounted along a circumference direction to be protruded and retracted in a radial direction of the housing, and an inner ring fitted to an inner surface of the housing and rotated along with the rotor when the rotor rotates. The housing is formed of a material harder than the material of the inner ring, and oil for lubrication is provided between the housing and the inner ring.
