A self-priming pump is described that has a housing, an inlet, and an outlet. A first impeller has a first pump section that is arranged in a first chamber, and a second impeller has a second pump section that is arranged in a second chamber. A shaft section is provided between the pump sections, and has a shaft end and penetrates an opening in a housing wall. To improve the net positive section head of the pump, the shaft section between a constriction and the shaft end is formed to taper from the shaft end toward the constriction, and the first impeller and shaft section between the constriction and first pump section has a smooth contour.

Open water pump

An open water pump comprises an upper casing, a lower casing, an impeller having a central shaft and a plurality of blades. Each blade has an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper casing has an upper chamber, the lower casing has a lower chamber. A plurality of inlets attached below and to a side of the lower casing, and a plurality of outlets attached to a side of the upper casing. At least the bottom portion of the lower portion of each blade which attached to the shaft gradually bends along a rotation direction of the impeller, and a ratio of a height of the lower portion of each blade to a height of the upper portion is between 1 and 5. The impeller can be allowed to draw water at a low water level, foam formed by washing liquid or food debris on the surface of water can be less likely to get into the impeller to influence the drawing of water, a sufficient amount of water can be drawn from the water inlets.

Integral pump pressure relief valve

A fuel pump includes a cartridge removably received within a canister. The cartridge includes a motor assembly, and a pump assembly that includes a centrifugal pumping element and outlet porting from the centrifugal pumping element. The motor drives the centrifugal pumping element to generate a flow of fluid through a main flow pathway between a pump inlet and outlet through the outlet porting of the pump assembly. The cartridge further includes a pressure relief valve that is movable between a closed position and an open position, and defines a pressure relief flow pathway integrally within the cartridge from the outlet porting to inlet porting of the centrifugal pumping element. When pressure within the pump assembly exceeds a threshold pressure, the pressure relief valve moves from the closed position to the open position to permit a relief flow of fluid through the relief flow pathway. The fuel pump may be employed as part of an aircraft fuel system.

IMPELLER PUMP

A centrifugal pump includes a motor with a shaft and an adapter mounted to the motor. A volute housing mounted to the adapter defines a volute chamber. The adapter and volute housing define a pumping chamber therebetween. The volute housing includes an impeller inlet wall having an orifice. An impeller is disposed within the pumping chamber and a hub of the impeller is mounted on the shaft while a shroud portion coincides with the impeller orifice.
