The adapter comprises a housing having a first side and a second side, a reducing passage extending axially through the housing from the first side to the second side, wherein the reducing passage has a varying inner diameter such that a first inner diameter transitions to a second inner diameter, a plurality of fastener receiving holes extending transversely through the housing and disposed radially and circumferentially around the reducing passage, and a plurality of fastening elements extending from the housing at the second side. The submersible pump outlet is connected to the adapter on the second side and an existing discharge line connected to the adapter on the first side. The adapter provides a transition from a diameter of the submersible pump outlet to a diameter of the existing discharge line.
