Actuator with thermal protection

An actuator includes a housing that defines a first inlet to receive a fluid, a second inlet to receive the fluid and a chamber. The actuator includes an actuator rod movably coupled to the housing. The actuator rod includes a head. A first face of the head is responsive to the fluid from the first inlet, and a second face of the head is responsive to the fluid from the second inlet to move the actuator rod. The head defines at least one cross-bore. The actuator includes at least one plug coupled to the cross-bore to inhibit a flow of the fluid through the cross-bore in a first state such that the plug fluidly isolates the fluid from the first inlet from the fluid from the second inlet. The plug is to enable the flow of the fluid through the at least one plug in a second state.

A pin assembly for a piston block of a hydraulic cylinder includes a pin that is axially engaged with the piston block. The pin assembly also includes a floating bush that is spaced apart from the pin to receive a sleeve therebetween. The floating bush is also configured to exhibit axial and radial play in its movement relative to the sleeve. The axial and radial play in the movement of the floating bush allows the floating bush to align with a cap port of the cylinder housing prior to entering the cap port of the cylinder housing.

A piston-slipper assembly and method for assembling a piston-slipper assembly for use in a hydraulic apparatus such as a piston motor or piston pump. The assembly contains a piston and a slipper, and at least one of the piston or the slipper includes a ball and the other includes a socket. The ball is retained in the socket without crimping, swaging or bending of the socket.

The system includes a housing configured to couple with a main damper cylinder, the housing including a slave cylinder within a portion of a slave cylinder chamber, the slave cylinder telescopically movable with respect to the housing; a fluid chamber; and a fluid port configured to provide a fluid flow for the fluid chamber, wherein an increase in a fluid volume within the fluid chamber causes a portion of the slave cylinder to telescopically extend from the slave cylinder chamber. A preload flange coupled with the slave cylinder at an end of the housing such that a change in a location of the slave cylinder causes a change in a location of the preload flange.

Pressure wave generator with movable control rod for generating a pressure wave in a medium

Examples of a pressure wave generator configured to generate high energy pressure waves in a medium are disclosed. The pressure wave generator can include a movable piston with a guide through which a piston control rod can move or slide. The pressure wave generator can include a transducer coupled to a medium. During an impact of the piston on the transducer, the control rod can slide in the guide, which can reduce stress on the rod. The pressure wave generator can include a damper to decelerate the control rod, independently of the piston. Impact of the piston on the transducer transfers a portion of the piston's kinetic energy into the medium thereby generating pressure waves in the medium. A piston driving system may be used to provide precise and controlled launching or movement of the piston. Examples of methods of operating the pressure wave generator are disclosed.

An open end of a cylinder main body is blocked by a cap, which includes a main body portion, and an outer edge portion that bends from the main body portion toward the open end of the cylinder main body, a distal end of the outer edge portion being locked with an inner circumferential wall. When a piston comes into abutment against the main body portion, a space is formed by the outer edge portion, the inner circumferential wall, and the end surface of the piston. A first port is disposed so as to communicate with the space, whereby the space serves as a space into which the pressure fluid is introduced.

A cylinder has a piston part, a cylinder part, and a pipe section connected to the piston or cylinder parts. A first return pressure compartment receives a fluid to apply a pressure on a first return pressure surface so that the piston part is displaced in a second return stroke direction. The first return pressure compartment is positioned on the outside of the pipe section, and the area of the first return pressure surface is substantially equal to the area of the return pressure surface so that a volume-neutral operation of the cylinder is provided. Also described is a hydraulic system, an excavator comprising the cylinder and a procedure for operation of the cylinder.
