An adjustable fastener system generally includes an anchor component, a drive component, and a finish head component. The finish head component is threaded onto the anchor component to form the completed fastener that may be adjusted to different heights. The drive component is used to drive the anchor component into position prior to adjusting the finish head component. In some embodiments, the drive component may be used before the finish head component is installed, and in other embodiments, the drive component may be used with the finish head component installed. The adjustable fastener system saves time and effort at a construction site, eliminates the amount of prep work, and eliminates the need to have multiple different fasteners on site. The adjustable fastener system may be used for installing insulation panels over concrete in a roofing system as well as other applications.

Anchor fastener including an expansion sleeve

A fastener including a body having a threaded portion and an opposing, tapered portion, where the tapered portion includes an outwardly angled surface, and a sleeve movably connected to the body. The sleeve includes a plurality of fingers at least partially separated from each other, where each of the fingers includes at least two, axially spaced gripping members protruding from the body. When the fastener is inserted in a borehole formed in a substrate and a fastening member is threaded onto the threaded portion and tightened, the sleeve progressively moves along the angled surface causing the fingers to move outwardly and at least one of the gripping members to engage an inner surface of the substrate forming the borehole to secure the fastener in the borehole.

Connecting expansion bolts over-molded with expansion sleeves

A connecting expansion bolt over-molded with an expansion sleeve includes a bolt head at one bolt end and a bolt cone tapering in the direction of the bolt head. At the other bolt end, the bolt cone and an adjoining bolt shaft portion are over-molded with a plastic expansion sleeve, the sleeve end of which that surrounds the bolt cone is divided into a plurality of spreadable sleeve segments by open-ended slits. Provision is made for the sleeve end that surrounds the bolt cone to be divided into at least three sleeve segments. For at least two of the slits on the bolt cone that separate the sleeve segments from one another do not extend parallel to the bolt axis.

Expansion anchor with grooves in the expansion cone

An expansion anchor with a bolt and at least one expansion element is disclosed. An oblique surface is arranged in the region of the first end of the bolt and forces the expansion element radially outward on the bolt if the bolt is displaced in a pull-out direction relative to the expansion element. The bolt has, in the region of its rear end facing away from the first end, a load-absorber which is suitable for introducing tensile forces which are directed in the pull-out direction into the bolt. A plurality of grooves that are closed with respect to the first end of the bolt are disposed in the oblique surface and the plurality of grooves reduce a contact surface between the expansion element and the oblique surface. The contact surface between the expansion element and the oblique surface is reduced by the plurality of grooves by 20 to 50%.

Expansion anchor having a double coating

An expansion anchor, including at least one anchor body as a first element and at least one bolt as a second element, wherein the bolt has an expansion body, which pushes the anchor body radially outward when the expansion body is moved in an extraction direction in relation to the anchor body is provided. A double coating having an inner layer and an outer layer covering the inner layer is provided on one of the two elements in an area of contact with the other element, wherein the outer layer has a coefficient of friction with respect to the other element that is greater than a coefficient of friction of the inner layer with respect to the other element.

Method for anchoring an expansion anchor in a borehole

A method for anchoring an expansion anchor in a borehole is disclosed. The expansion anchor includes an anchor bolt and an expansion body on a first terminal section of the anchor bolt, an actuator disposed on a second terminal section of the anchor bolt, and an expansion sleeve disposed around the anchor bolt. In an embodiment, the method includes hammering the expansion anchor into the borehole in an insertion direction and actuating the actuator to screw the expansion body outwardly in a direction that is opposite the insertion direction such that the expansion sleeve is expanded radially outwardly and digs into a wall of the borehole and such that the expansion body digs into the wall of the borehole.
