TOOL ARRANGEMENT FOR APPLICATION AND/OR RELEASE OF NUT TYPE FASTENERS
Methods and devices for providing a threaded male member for a fastening arrangement are disclosed. The threaded male member can include at least one reaction portion at or towards at least one respective end of the threaded male member for use in reacting applied torque during tightening or releasing an associated nut of the fastening arrangement. The at least one reaction portion can be a permanent feature of the threaded male member and can remain part of the threaded male member after said tightening to a target torque.
OPERATION HANDLE AND HANDLE MAIN BODY STRUCTURE FOR OPERATION HANDLE
An operation handle which is linked to a shaft body and which is configured to operate the shaft body, the operation handle includes a handle main body, and a linking clip. The handle main body includes a cylindrical shape shaft body retaining portion fitted over the shaft body. The shaft body retaining portion includes a pair of clip-holding grooves. The linking clip includes a base portion and a pair of elastic legs which face each other via the base portion. Each of the pair of elastic legs includes a locking portion. The pair of elastic legs are inserted into the pair of the clip-holding grooves and the shaft body retaining portion is interposed from both sides by the pair of elastic legs and the linking clip is mounted in the shaft body retaining portion.
Expandable and automatically retractable collar and method of use thereof
A flexible collar including a rigid body having a cylindrical outer surface and a cylindrical inner surface concentrically aligned with respect to a common longitudinal axis, a top surface, and a bottom surface, the inner surface defining a bore from the top surface to the bottom surface, and each of the top and bottom surfaces having an endless pathway confined to a respective plane and circumscribing a respective edge of the inner surface. The flexible collar further includes at least one accordion region having a plurality of pivots, at least two of the pivots being radially spaced apart from the longitudinal axis at different distances, and the accordion region being configured to radially deform.
Connectors with a pin, a housing, and one or more springs
The present application relates to connectors that use canted coil springs to retain a pin to a housing. The connectors have increased disconnect to connect force ratios. Dual concentric spring configuration allows for an initial locking configuration that can be overcome with higher force and deflection of the second spring. Dual springs in series in a constrained groove can require a high force for connector disconnect, since force vectors may be in a direction relatively close to being along the spring major axis. A curved groove wall can offer resistance to a spring that is required to slide first into the groove in order to allow disconnect.
HIGH RETENTION FORCE SERVICEABLE PLUG-ON JOINT ASSEMBLY
A joint assembly includes a first member having splines formed therein. A second member includes splines formed thereon and is coupled to the first member. The splines of the first member engage the splines of the second member. An access window is formed on the first member. A ring retains the first member to the second member. A seal extends across a joint between the first member and the second member and covers the access window. A portion of the ring is accessible through the access window following removal of the seal, where the ring can be manipulated to release the first member from the second member.
ASSEMBLY OF TWO PARTS COMPRISING A REMOVABLE CENTRING SEAT FOR AN AIRCRAFT TURBINE ENGINE
A turbine engine for an aircraft which includes, in general, at least one assembly made up of a first part wherein a second part is attached with an attachment device including a milled head applied to the first part and a body engaging with the second part in order to clamp the parts. The recess of the head of such an attachment device requires a boss on the first part, which is complex and expensive to produce using conventional techniques. Such a boss can be replaced with a removable seat having an opening through which the body passes and forming a recess for the head, a bearing surface for the head, and abutment device applied to the first part in order to prevent a movement of the seat towards the second part.
Valve
A valve, in particular for hydraulic circuits, includes a valve body (4) designed as a cartridge that can be fixed in a housing (6) having fluid connections (8) by a securing device (20, 26, 28). The securing device has at least one blocking element (20) in the form of a separate component between the valve body (4) and the housing (6). The blocking element has blocking surfaces that can be moved relative to the longitudinal axis (18) of the valve body (4) between an assembly position allowing the valve body (4) to be inserted into the housing (6) and a blocking position in which the blocking surfaces secure the valve body in an assembly position, preferably with zero backlash by bearing against retaining surfaces (26, 28) of the housing (6) and the valve body (4).
Safety guard support for power take off joints and shafts
A safety guard support for a power take off shaft, the safety guard support: including a bearing; and a retainer ring. The bearing and the retainer ring including corresponding interlocking formations configured to prevent rotation of the bearing relative the retainer ring about a longitudinal axis.
Rivetless fastener and installation tool
A fastener for retaining a bolt in a hole in a structure, comprising a bushing integrally formed with and extending from the bottom surface of a retainer, the bushing being dimensioned for insertion into the hole in the structure and having a wall thickness ranging from about 0.005 inches to about 0.030 inches, wherein the bushing is configured to be expanded within the hole, thereby securely coupling the expanded bushing within the hole of the structure and anchoring the retainer to the surface of the structure surrounding the hole. A tool for installing a fastener, comprising a tapered mandrel configured for insertion within a fastener situated within a hole of the structure, a drive mechanism configured to retract the mandrel through the fastener and thereby expand the fastener, and a force sensor configured for measuring a force applied by the drive mechanism to retract the mandrel through the fastener.
Snap ring, rotator device, fixing device, and image forming apparatus
A snap ring is set to a set portion of a shaft of a rotator from a direction orthogonal to an axial direction of the shaft. The snap ring includes a first arcuate portion and a second arcuate portion facing each other, being elastically deformable in directions away from each other, holding the set portion by elastic deformation restoring force. One ends of the first and second arcuate portions are away from each other to form an insertion portion to insert the set portion. When the snap ring is not used, the first arcuate portion has a same radius of curvature as the second arcuate portion and the set portion, and a center of curvature closer to the second arcuate portion than the first arcuate portion, and the second arcuate portion has a center of curvature closer to the first arcuate portion than the second arcuate portion.
