INSERT NUT
A insert nut for mounting a fastener to a soft or malleable material is disclosed. The insert nut includes a flanged head having at least one flat and a pilot extending from the flanged head. The flat of the insert nut is configured to abut a flat in the soft or malleable material and thereby inhibit rotation. The insert nut includes at least one tab arranged on an end of the pilot. The at least one tab is configured to be deformed into the soft or malleable material and thereby inhibit backing out of the insert nut from the soft or malleable material.
METHOD OF FASTENING A FASTENING ELEMENT TO A WORKPIECE
The present invention relates to a method of fastening a fastening element to a workpiece by means of a setting device, wherein the fastening element and/or the workpiece is/are at least sectionally reshaped during the fastening, and wherein a lubricant is used that is free of grease and free of oil, in particular with the lubricant being a substance mixture of two or more substances.
Blind rivet nut for the connection of two components
A blind rivet nut for connecting two components by means of a screw connection includes a rivet shank. The rivet shank has an internal thread, at the axial first end of which a deformation portion configured to produce the riveted joint is arranged. At the axial second end of the rivet shank there is arranged a rivet head with a contact face that allows an adjacent component face to lie against. The supporting surface has a radial extent which is greater than or equal to 1.5 times and less than or equal to 2 times the radial extent of the rivet shank.
Insert and system for providing a calibrated metering orifice
An insert for connecting first and second parts each having holes, the insert having a cylindrical sleeve and a core. The cylindrical sleeve having a central void and an outer diameter sized to fit into the hole in the first part. The central void having a uniform diameter across a length of the cylindrical sleeve. The core having a through-hole and a tapered outer wall such that when the core is pulled into the cylindrical sleeve, the cylindrical sleeve expands against the hole of the first part to secure the insert to the first part. The through-hole of the core having a threaded portion at a first end of the core to engage with a threaded fastener to secure the second part to the first part. The first end of the core is press-fit into the cylindrical sleeve.
FASTENING MEMBER WITH FASTENING PORTIONS
A fastening member with a plurality of fastening portions includes two or more fastening portions. The fastening portions are configured to be fastening connected to a first object or to be fastening connected to a second object, and have the same or different fastening connection directions or the same or different fastening connection positions. Thus, the fastening member may be disposed at a third object, and be fastening connected to the first object and the second object by the fastening portions, respectively, so as to complete coupling and separation of at three objects, achieving the effect of repeated quick coupling and separation.
Thermoplastic frictional connector
The invention relates to a method for producing a component bond (70, 140) comprising: a fastening structure (60, 160) that has at least one component layer (60; 160a, 160b); and a thermoplastic connecting element (10, 110) having a head (12) and a shank (14), in which method the connecting element (10, 110) is driven into the fastening structure (60, 160) under pressure whilst rotating, such that the shank (14) penetrates the fastening structure (60, 160). The connecting element (10, 110), after penetrating the fastening structure (60, 160), is converted by friction into a softened, free-flowing state in a die (44, 144) which is placed against the fastening structure (60, 160) in the opposite direction to the driving direction, resulting in a thicker section (22, 22) that extends beyond the radial extent of some sections of the shank (14). The fastening structure (60, 160) is thus interlockingly held between the head (12) and the thicker section (22, 122).
Hole punch and also a method for the piercing of a workpiece which is present as a foam material and/or as a sandwich material and also a method for the manufacture of the hole punch
A hole punch and a method for piercing a workpiece wherein a hole punch includes a sheet metal part and a piercing body attached thereto which carries out the piercing function and which is provided with a thread cylinder or can be provided with a thread cylinder, for example by pressing a threaded pin into a centrally arranged passage of the hole punch, wherein the hole punch can also be formed in one piece as a piercing body with a sheet metal-like flange. Furthermore a method is claimed for the manufacture of the hole punch.
Method for producing a nut which is rotationally connected to a cable shoe, and nut which is rotationally connected to a cable shoe
The invention relates to a method for producing a nut which is rotationally connected to a flat part connecting section of a cable shoe, wherein the flat part connecting section has a passage opening, the nut has a sitting face which is at the bottom in the connected state, and a holder section extends on the nut from the sitting face further downward, wherein a tapered portion of the passage opening is formed by a holder material section which is preliminarily curved into the passage opening by deformation, and the holder material section is produced by a recess which is made in the flat part connecting section so as to surround the passage opening on a top side of the flat part connection section, which top side is associated with the sitting face. In order to specify a method of this kind which can be carried out in respect of production, in particular in respect of the production costs, in a favourable manner, it is proposed that the holder material section is first formed and the nut is placed onto the top side, wherein the holder section protrudes downward beyond a narrowest cross section of the passage opening which is formed by the holder material section, and that the holder section is then widened below the narrowest cross section, for the purpose of holding the nut on the cable shoe in a rotatable and interlocking manner. The invention further relates to a nut which is fitted in a rotatable manner on a flat part connecting section of a cable shoe.
METHOD FOR FASTENING A FASTENER ELEMENT
The present invention relates to a method of fastening a fastening element to a workpiece, in particular to a sheet metal part, wherein the fastening element comprises a flange section provided for contact with the workpiece; and a fastening section which has a rivet section that at least sectionally bounds a hollow space in a peripheral direction and that is at least sectionally produced from a metal material, said method comprising the steps: providing the workpiece; inserting the fastening element into the workpiece; and at least sectionally reshaping the rivet section such that a reshaped section of the rivet element engages behind the workpiece at a side of the workpiece remote from the flange section,
wherein the insertion and the reshaping are effected by a fastening movement of the fastening element in a common fastening direction; and
wherein the fastening element, the workpiece, and/or a reshaping tool provided for reshaping the rivet section is/are acted on by a mechanical vibration, in particular by an ultrasound vibration, at least at times during the insertion of the fastening element into the workpiece and/or during the reshaping of the rivet section.
