DUST COVER FOR BALL JOINT
A dust cover A for a ball joint includes a cover body 1 made of an elastic material, a stud mounting part 2 that is included in one end of the cover body 1 and into which a stud 4 of a ball joint B is inserted, and a socket mounting part 3 that is included in the other end of the cover body 1 and is mounted to a socket 5 holding a spherical head part 42 of the stud 4. In the dust cover A for a ball joint, the stud mounting part 3 includes a fixed part 22 to be held on and fixed to the stud 4, and the socket mounting part 3 includes a sliding part to be slidably attached to the socket 5.
BALL JOINT FOR A TWO-POINT LINK AND TWO-POINT-LINK WITH SUCH BALL JOINT
A ball joint for a chassis component in the form of a two-point linkage. The ball joint includes a housing and a ball stud fitted and able to be deflected in the housing, as well as a sealing element arranged between the housing and the ball stud, which surrounds the ball stud all round. Deflection movement of the ball stud, relative to the housing, is restricted at least in some areas by the sealing element. The sealing element is attached to the housing by an interlocked connection. The sealing element of the ball joint is attached to the housing by a snap-on connection. A two-point linkage having such a ball joint, and the two-point linkage is a steering rod or a track rod.
SEAL MEMBER OF BALL JOINT
Provided is a seal member or a ball joint capable of satisfactorily maintaining sealing performance between a ball portion of a ball shank and a ball receiving portion of a holder for a long time even when the ball shank is used under a condition that the ball shank is pivoted repeatedly with respect to the holder at a large pivot angle and at high speed. The seal member includes: a base portion having an annular ring shape and is to be fixed to the holder; a retaining portion formed on an inner peripheral side of the base portion integrally with the base portion and is recessed into a conical shape toward the holder; and a lip portion formed along an inner peripheral edge of the retaining portion so as to be held in sliding contact with a spherical surface of the ball portion of the ball shank.
DUST COVER
A dust cover that allows a dust lip part thereof to offer sealing performance stably for a long period of time. A sealing part 130 includes an inner peripheral sealing part that can slide relative to an outer peripheral surface of a shaft part, and a dust lip part 132 that can slide relative to an end surface of a knuckle 400, wherein an annular protrusion 135 that protrudes radially outward is formed at an end of the sealing part 130 on the other end side, and at least one of inner and outer peripheral surfaces of the dust lip part 132 extends toward the other end side from recessed parts 132a and 132b of the sealing part 130 being recessed toward one end side with respect to an end surface 135a of the annular protrusion 135 on the other end side.
ELASTOMERIC SEAL HAVING IMPACT PROTECTING PROTRUSIONS
An impact resistant seal includes an annular body extending between a first end and a second end. The annular body includes a first anchor formed on the first end and a second anchor formed on the second end. The impact resistant seal includes an elastomeric section having an exterior surface which extends between the first anchor and the second anchor. The elastomeric section is expandable and contractible in response to movement of the first anchor relative to the second anchor. The impact resistant seal includes a plurality of protrusions extending radially outward from the exterior surface and extending circumferentially around the elastomeric section. Adjacent ones of the plurality of protrusions are spaced apart from one another by a predetermined spacing magnitude configured to accommodate the movement of the first anchor relative to the second anchor.
Bearing assembly having surface protrusions and a seal
A bearing assembly has an outer race, which has an arcuate inner surface and an inner member that is partially disposed in the outer member and which has an arcuate outer surface. The inner member has one or more hubs that extend axially from the inner member. The one or more hubs each have one or more circumferentially extending surface depression that is positioned proximate the arcuate outer surface. The one or more hubs each have one or more circumferentially extending surface protrusion that is positioned axially outward beyond the at least one circumferentially extending surface depression.
Spherical plain bearing with angular misalignment restraint system, and angular misalignment restrain system
A spherical plain bearing includes an outer ring having a concave interior spherical surface, and an inner member having a convex exterior spherical surface. The inner member is pivotally disposed in the outer ring such that the inner member and the outer ring are angularly misalignable relative to one another. The spherical plain bearing includes an angular misalignment restraint system which includes an inner member restraint feature on the inner member and an outer ring restraint feature on the outer member. The first and second portions are spaced apart when the inner member and the outer ring are angularly misaligned relative to one another by less than a predetermined maximum angle , and come into abutment when the inner member and the outer ring are angularly misaligned relative to one another by angle . The abutment prevents any further relative angular misalignment of the inner member and the outer ring.
Spherical exhaust pipe joint
A spherical exhaust pipe joint 1 includes an outer case 6, an inner case 8, a seal body 13 facing an inner peripheral surface 9 of the outer case 6 and an outer peripheral surface 11 of the inner case 8, a seal body 16 facing the inner peripheral surface 9 of the outer case 6 and the outer peripheral surface 11 of the inner case 8, and a wave spring 17 which is disposed between the outer case 6 and the inner case 8 to resiliently urge the seal bodies 13 and 16 in an axial direction toward one of the outer case 6 and the inner case 8.
Spherical bearing with axially compressed annular seal
A spherical bearing includes a split outer ring having a spherical radially inner facing surface, an axially outward facing shoulder and a radially outward extending first groove formed therein. A first snap ring is snap fit in the first groove. The spherical bearing includes an inner race defining a spherical exterior surface and having a radially inward extending second groove. A second snap ring is snap fit into the second groove. A seal extends between the outer ring and the inner race and includes a retaining ring secured to a second end of the seal. A first end of the seal defines a lip extending radially inward. The lip is seated against the second snap ring. The retaining ring is positioned between the first snap ring and the axially outward facing shoulder. The seal is axially compressed between the axially outward facing shoulder and the second snap ring.
