System and method for measuring pre-load force during tapered roller bearing wheel adjustment
Improved systems and methods facilitate precise adjustment of wheel-end tapered roller bearing preload force on an axle spindle with a diameter, a longitudinal groove or flat, and a thread pattern to receive a hexagonal adjustment nut with six outer edges. A basic system includes a flat round inner washer having an inner diameter corresponding to the diameter of the axle, an outer diameter, an inner surface, and outer surface and an outer edge. The inner washer includes a tab or D-shape to cooperate with a groove or flat, respectively on the axle to ensure that the washer does not rotate following installation. A plurality of markings are provided on the outer surface or the outer edge of the inner washer, each marking indicating the amount of rotation needed to cause a 0.001″ lateral movement of the adjustment nut as a function of the diameter and thread pattern of the axle.
Rolling bearing
A rolling bearing includes an outer bearing race and an inner bearing race defining a bearing space therebetween. Rolling elements are mounted in the bearing space. A seal device is at one axial opening of the bearing space and includes a metal ring member with through holes configured such that lubricating oil can pass through the through holes and solid foreign substances cannot pass through the through holes. One of the outer bearing race and the inner bearing race is stationary, and the other is rotatable. The metal ring member is in engagement with the stationary bearing race. A metal or resin sub-ring member, which is a separate member from the metal ring member, is fixed to the rotatable bearing race. Between the metal ring member and the metal or resin sub-ring member, a gap is defined which constitutes a labyrinth seal structure.
Endplay or preload settable lock nut
A lock nut is useable for setting a bearing to preload or endplay. A plurality of preload markings are circumferentially spaced apart on the nut. The distance between the preload marking corresponding to a preselected amount of preload applied or reduced on said bearing when the nut is (i) tightened to apply a preload force to said bearing or (ii) loosened to reduce a preload force on said bearing, respectively. A plurality of endplay markings are also circumferentially spaced apart on the nut. The distance between the endplay markings, corresponding to a preselected amount of endplay increased or reduced in said bearing when the nut is (i) tightened to reduce endplay on the bearing or (ii) loosened to increase endplay in said bearing. The use of endplay and preload markings enables setting of a bearing on an axle or spindle to either an endplay setting or a preload setting by adjusting the rotation of the lock nut according to the endplay markings or the preload markings, respectively.
TAPER ROLLER BEARING
An annular cage provided with a taper roller bearing includes: a small-diameter annular portion, a large-diameter annular portion, and a plurality of column portions which link the small-diameter annular portion and the large-diameter annular portion to each other, and further includes roller retaining portions which prevent taper rollers accommodated in pockets from falling out to the outer side in the radial direction. Each of the roller retaining portions has a shape of a protruding beam that is a fixed end on the column portion side and on the small-diameter annular portion side, extends in the circumferential direction and in a column portion longitudinal direction, and is a free end on the tip end side in the extending direction.
Roller tool
A roller tool 1 that can be connected into a string for deployment into an oil or gas well includes at least two rollers or wheels 10 located on each side of the roller tool 1, with axes of rotation that are perpendicular to the axis of the roller tool 1. The roller tool further includes at least two interconnecting tubular portions, where one tubular portion 41 comprises a mandrel 45 that connects to another tubular portion 42. An annular hub 20 is fitted over the mandrel 45 and the rollers 10 are connected onto the hub 20. The tubular portions 41, 42 comprise circumferential sleeve sections 56a, 56b that partially extend over the rollers 10 and resist detachment of the rollers 10 from the roller tool 1. The roller tool 1 can aid passage of a string through a well by holding the string away from the walls of the well and reducing frictional contact.
COMPACT, HIGH-CAPACITY, LONG-LIFE CLUTCHES
A compact, long-life clutch assembly employs a bearing and shaft system having a preloaded tapered roller bearing accommodating both high radial loads and axial loads while accommodating system misalignment resulting from such loads, deflections, and structural characteristics of input/output devices. A bell housing and end cover integrated into a single casting reduces costs, while the utilization of wave springs accommodate reduction in size and expense in manufacture and servicing.
Method of finishing a bearing ring
Provided is a method of machining a bearing ring of a wind turbine bearing, the method including the steps of identifying a number of local hard zones on a surface of the bearing ring and removing material from the surface such that a bearing ring thickness in local hard zone is less than a bearing ring thickness outside a local hard zone. A machining assembly, a wind turbine bearing and a wind turbine is also provided.
Transmission with pretensioned transmission housing walls
A transmission has a transmission housing. The transmission housing has a first opening formed in a first wall and a second opening formed in a second wall. The transmission includes a shaft that is mounted rotatably on the transmission housing via bearing devices arranged in the first opening and the second opening. The transmission includes respective covers, by which the first opening and the second opening are closed. In addition, the transmission includes screw elements, by which the covers are held on the transmission housing. A coupling element, to which the screw elements are screwed in order to hold the covers on the transmission housing, is provided. As a result of this, the first wall and the second wall are pretensioned in an axial direction of the shaft.
Hydrostatic axial piston machine with through drive
A hydrostatic axial piston machine has a drive shaft penetrating a housing on either side. In this case, the mechanically weaker of the two shaft ends is strengthened by an undercut being eliminated, said undercut defining the minimum diameter of the shaft end and thus of the entire drive shaft. Instead, the strength of the relevant shaft end is increased by a displacement of a circular bearing surface for a rolling bearing radially outwardly and away from the rolling bearing. In this case, the circular bearing surface is displaced below a compression spring which clamps the cylinder drum against a distributor plate. The resulting spacing between the circular bearing surface and the rolling bearing remaining in place is bridged by a sleeve or by a ring. A concave rounded shaft shoulder is simply formed below the sleeve and/or the ring.
