The main shaft bearing assembly includes a main shaft having an input spline that extends out of the transmission housing and a main shaft gear positioned within the transmission housing. A main drive gear is concentrically aligned with and positioned around the main shaft. The main drive gear has a cylindrical section that extends partially out of the transmission housing and a gear section positioned within the transmission housing. There is a roller bearing assembly for providing a bearing surface between the transmission housing and the main drive gear. The tapered roller bearing assembly is concentrically aligned with the main shaft and the main drive gear, and the tapered roller bearing assembly is positioned around the cylindrical section of the main drive gear. The tapered roller bearing assembly has a plurality of cylindrical rollers which are preferably tapered.

PRE-ASSEMBLED UNIT HAVING TWO TAPERED ROLLER BEARINGS

The present invention relates to a pre-assembled unit having two tapered roller bearings, for a driven shaft designed to be replaced efficiently and to maintain optimal tightness as if it were factory assembled. The bearing comprises a rubber seal attached to the lateral face of the inner race of one of the tapered rollers, said face being opposite the smooth face of the other tapered roller. The necessary widening of the inner races requires a second invention, namely, a roller cage that allows the rollers to rock slightly in order to be assembled without causing damage or becoming damaged.

The outer ring spacer is provided with a nozzle, which is configured to inject a cooling fluid (R) toward an outer circumferential surface of the inner ring, and is inclined so that an injection port thereof is inclined forwardly in a rotation direction of the inner ring. An inclination angle of the nozzle with respect to an axial direction is set to a value within a range from 50 to 90.

An installation unit for installing a bearing unit includes a carrier having an interior and the bearing unit mounted in the interior. The bearing unit includes a first rolling-element row and a second rolling-element row, and both the first rolling-element row and the second rolling-element row are at least partially disposed inside the carrier. The bearing unit is slidingly mounted in the carrier such that, when an end opening of the carrier is aligned with an opening in a bearing housing, applying a force against the bearing unit will slide the bearing unit out of the carrier and into the opening in the bearing housing. Also, a method of installing the bearing unit in the opening in the housing using the installation unit.
