An object of the present invention is to provide a vibration damping device including a bearing member capable of achieving simplification of configuration in the vibration damping device, reducing frictional force during operation, and having an excellent wear resistance. A vibration damping device of the present invention includes a bearing structure, in which a metal bush (bearing member) has a resin layer on a side defined as a friction sliding surface of a base member, the resin layer includes polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and a tetrafluoroethylene-perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether copolymer resin, and the metal bush is lubricated by a magneto-rheological fluid composition.
Sliding element
A sliding element with one substrate and at least one layer of a sliding layer material applied to the substrate is described. The sliding layer material can consist of a sliding coating with at least one cross-linkable bonding agent or at least one high-melting thermoplastic material or which consists of a material with a matrix of at least one high-melting thermoplastic material or at least one duroplastic material. This sliding layer material contains Fe.sub.2O.sub.3 with a preferred proportion 0.1 to 15% by volume.
CLIP, CLIP ASSEMBLY, AND METHOD OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME
A clip for providing a sliding force towards a movable substrate, the clip including at least one strip, where the at least one strip comprises a first axial end and a second axial end and an arcuate shape between the first axial end and the second axial end; where the at least one strip is a metal strip including a sliding layer at an outbound side.
Inboard Bearing Assemblies for Proprotor Systems
A proprotor system for a tiltrotor aircraft having a helicopter flight mode and an airplane flight mode. The proprotor system includes a yoke having a plurality of blade arms with inboard pockets. A centrifugal force and shear bearing assembly is disposed in each of the inboard pockets of the yoke. Each of a plurality of proprotor blades is coupled to the yoke by one of the bearing assemblies such that each proprotor blade has a pitch change degree of freedom about a pitch change axis and a tilting degree of freedom about a focal point. Each bearing assembly includes a centrifugal force bearing coupled to the yoke, a shear bearing coupled to the yoke and an inboard beam coupled between the centrifugal force bearing and the shear bearing. Each inboard beam is coupled to a respective proprotor blade.
Railway truck having a self-lubricating composite bearing pad disposed therein
A railway truck assembly includes a self-lubricating pad disposed therein. The self-lubricating bearing pad includes a first layer. The first layer includes a plurality of self-lubricating fibers inter-woven with a plurality of support fibers. The self-lubricating bearing pad includes a plurality of fiber layers. Each of the plurality of fiber layers includes a plurality of support fibers. The self-lubricating bearing pad includes one or more matrix layers communicating with one or more of the plurality of fiber layers. One or more of the matrix layers are infused into one or more of the plurality of fiber layers.
SLIDING CONTACT SURFACE-FORMING MATERIAL, SLIDE BEARING CONTAINING SAME, AND METHOD OF USING SAME IN A MOIST ENVIRONMENT
A sliding contact surface-forming material, and method of making the material are disclosed, the material having minimal swelling and excellent friction-proof and wear-proof characteristics when used in moist environments such as in water, and improved in the friction-proof and wear-proof characteristics under dry friction conditions such as in the open air, particularly under oscillation conditions for testing journal. The material includes a reinforcing base impregnated with a resol-type phenolic resin having polytetrafluoroethylene resin dispersed therein. The reinforcing base is composed of a woven fabric formed by using, as each of the warp and the weft, a ply yarn which is formed by paralleling at least two strands of a single twist yarn spun from fluorine-containing resin fiber and a single twist yarn spun from polyester fiber, and by twisting them in the direction opposite to the direction in which the single twist yarns were spun.
SLIDING CONTACT SURFACE-FORMING MATERIAL, SLIDE BEARING CONTAINING SAME, AND METHOD OF USING SAME IN A MOIST ENVIRONMENT
A sliding contact surface-forming material with improved friction-proof and wear-proof characteristics under dry friction conditions such as in the open air, while keeping the low swelling, friction-proof, and wear-proof characteristics under moist atmosphere typically under water unchanged, wherein the sliding contact surface-forming material includes a reinforcing base impregnated with a resol-type phenolic resin having polytetrafluoroethylene resin dispersed therein, the reinforcing base being composed of a woven fabric formed by using, respectively as the warp and the weft, a ply yarn which is formed by paralleling at least two strands of a single twist yarn spun from fluorine-containing resin fiber and a single twist yarn spun from polyphenylene sulfide fiber, and by twisting them in the direction opposite to the direction in which the single twist yarns were spun.
