Hybrid ball bearing pair and a compressor bearing arrangement
A pair of hybrid ball bearings have stainless steel rings and ceramic balls and are configured such that when the first inner ring and the first outer ring are in contact with the first plurality of ceramic balls under zero measuring load and zero mounting load and the second inner ring and the second outer ring are in contact with the second plurality of ceramic balls under zero measuring load and zero mounting load a certain gap exists between either the inner rings or the outer rings. The gap is based on the diameter of the inner ring or on the pitch diameter of the balls and on whether the bearings have an X configuration or an O configuration.
LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION AND IMPREGNATED BEARING
Provided are a lubricating oil composition which contains a base oil (A) containing an ester-based oil (Al), and a polymer (B) having a constituent unit (b) derived from an alkyl (meth)acrylate, wherein the content of the polymer (B) is 0.1 to 10% by mass based on the total amount of the lubricating oil composition, the lubricating oil composition has a viscosity index of 350 or more, the lubricating oil composition has a BF viscosity at −40° C. of 4000mPa.Math.s or less, and the lubricating oil composition is used for an impregnated bearing, and an impregnated bearing impregnated with the lubricating oil composition. The lubricating oil composition has excellent lubricity in use in a wide temperature environment from a low temperature region to a high temperature region, is capable of maintaining excellent infiltration property even in an environment in which a temperature change between a low temperature and a high temperature is severe, and is suitable for use in an impregnated bearing.
Rolling bearing for refrigerant compressor
A rolling bearing having an inner raceway and an outer raceway and a plurality of rolling elements arranged therebetween. The rolling bearing is media-lubricated or oil-free lubricated. The lubricant forms an elasto-hydrodynamic lubricant film between the rolling elements and the raceways. At first use of the rolling bearing, at least one surface of the rolling bearing is coated with a protective fluid, preferably an oil-based preservative fluid. Also, a refrigerant compressor having such a rolling bearing.
LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF USE
This disclosure relates to a method for improving air release in a lubricating oil. The method involves formulating a composition having at least one lubricating oil base stock as a major component, and one or more lubricating oil additives, as a minor component. The one or more lubricating oil additives include at least one polyalkylene glycol. The at least one polyalkylene glycol is soluble in the at least one lubricating oil base stock. The weight ratio of the at least one polyalkylene glycol to the at least one lubricating oil base stock is from about 1:99 to about 7:93. During operation of a lubricating system containing the lubricating oil, release of entrained air in the lubricating oil is improved, as determined by ASTM D-3427-15, as compared to release of entrained air achieved using a lubricating oil containing other than the at least one polyalkylene glycol. This disclosure also relates to lubricating oils having at least one oil soluble polyalkylene glycol (OSP).
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING LUBRICATION OF A ROTARY SHAFT SEAL
This disclosure relates to a method for controlling lubrication of a rotary shaft seal. The method involves providing an apparatus having a bulk lubricating oil reservoir, a rotary shaft that passes through the bulk lubricating oil reservoir, and a rotary shaft seal. The rotary shaft seal has a sealing edge in proximity with the rotary shaft creating a contact zone. The contact zone has a film of lubricating oil. The method also involves increasing the rate of heat flow along the rotary shaft to reduce temperature of the film of lubricating oil in the contact zone. Increasing the rate of heat flow along the rotary shaft is accomplished by using rotary shaft materials of construction having sufficient high thermal conductivity, rotary shaft coatings having sufficient high thermal conductivities, or increasing the surface area of the rotary shaft. This disclosure also relates to a method for controlling heat transfer in a contact zone, and a method for improving performance of an apparatus.
Grease, antifriction bearing, antifriction bearing device, and information recording/reproducing device
A bearing grease includes a base oil and a thickener, and the base oil includes mineral oil and poly-α-olefin. The poly-α-olefin may be a blend of poly-α-olefin having a kinetic viscosity higher than that of the mineral oil and poly-α-olefin having a kinetic viscosity equal to or lower than that of the mineral oil, and the kinetic viscosity of the base oil at 40° C. is in a range of 40 through 90 mm.sup.2/s. The amount of the poly-α-olefin by mass in the base oil is greater than the amount of the mineral oil by mass in the base oil. The worked penetration of the grease is in a range of 200 through 250. The grease reduces flying grease and outgas and has superior low-temperature characteristics.
Haptic operating device with a rotating element and method for operating electronic equipment with the haptic operating device
Electronic devices, such as consumer electronics devices and control systems in vehicles are controlled by way of a haptic operating device with a rotating unit. Selectable menu items are displayed on a display unit, and a menu item is selected by rotating the rotating unit. The rotating unit latches at a number of haptically perceptible latching points during rotation. The number and rotational position of the haptically perceptible latching points is dynamically changed in accordance with a specific menu item selected by the user.
